In a nut shell.

What's it like to own a 458?
Is it a better investment than an AM or Bentley?

Wow. That is the longest paragraph - containing the longest sentence - that I have ever read on PH I think!

I like to write a good long sentence with lots of sub-clauses now and again, but I count over 150 words in that first one. I bow down in the presence of a master.

I don't know I've never really thought about it most Ferraris eventually appreciate but if you are worried about depreciation then expensive cars are not a great thing to play about with here's an idea you want a 458 so buy a 458 and see what happens in the long term I don't think you can go far wrong but be prepared to keep it for a long time if you can't do that then it probably wasn't the car you really wanted in the first place if it was me I'd do a bit more thinking and decide on a car you really really want no car is going to appreciate well if you have bought at a high price and most desirable stuff is at high price right now basically if you think you will be bored with the car in a couple of years you will probably lose out dropping big money on anything right now with global interest rates predicted to rise this year and of course brexit effects that could possibly effect the number of optimistic chancers willing to take a 458 off your hands in a couple of years for anything like you paid for it. Or not.

So first of all I want to say I know that buying a car is not for an investment, I personally buy cars because its the move I want to make and a certain type of car I want, not for financial gain as I know some cars do but I am not a collector and would never see buying a car as a financial gain as buying a car for me is personal goals and enjoyment however probably like 99% of car buys all my purchases have always lost a considerable amount when t comes to selling but 99.9% have been great cars and have held plenty of memories and have been great cars although I'm now looking at taking a step up and possibly taking a step up and purchasing a supercar, my ideal car at the moment is a Ferrari 458 rosso red with black roof and nero interior. I know Ferrari has this tainted past with colossal servicing and repair bills however this car seems to be miles ahead and seems like it will be on par with couple of daily runners I have at the moment (ranger rover and Mercedes) and I would like to experience owning a Ferrari. Here is my question though, what are peoples recent thoughts as the 488 is now out and established and people did heavily doubt the 488 but a lot of peoples reactions have now changed, do you think the 458 will continue to depreciate and at what kind of price do you think it will bottom out as the 360 went quite low but has picked up but cant ever see the 458 surely touching quite as low in this economical climate? Also what are peoples thoughts on this as I could also purchase a Bentley Or Aston Martin for a similar price but the depreciation would be far great, as I started of saying, this car would not be to try and gain money obviously rather just try to not lose as much but also get the maximum enjoyment out of a car and it seems I'd enjoy owning a Ferrari much more than a Bentley or Aston and not take such a huge hit, I'm not worried about servicing and repairs as they will be a similar amount however the Ferrari wont depreciate as much? So rather than buying a new Bentley or Range rover etc again I'd rather try buying a Ferrari 458, enjoying it and when it eventually comes to selling who know it may well have gone up in price or stayed similar and I won't have to take such a huge hit. Just wondering what others experiences and thoughts are on this and before anyone comes out with the old theories about how if I have to ask these questions then I cant afford it, it purely out of interest as I have bought many cars previously for similar prices and lost around 70% on each car so am not in this for making money as I obviously wouldn't put that money into cars otherwise but rather just out of interest as id much rather buy and say I've owned a Ferrari than another new range rover and get more enjoyment out of it and possibly not take such a huge hit when it comes to selling on. Any opinions and experiences would be gratefully appreciated as it seems its come to that cross road where I'm ready to take the jump. Another one which is on my mind is a 2008 Porsche GT3 RS.
If you have to ask these questions, can you really afford it?

And breath........................
