Surely the healthiest and best solution is to set the alarm clock for 20mins earlier and give them breakfast at home properly.
Bingo. Good eating is about far more than the food itself, and actually eating with your parents around a table is a very important habit to get into. Setting the expectation that eating breakfast in the car is either normal or acceptable is not a good way to start.deckster said:

That would mean getting up before 06:00 some mornings, so no, that would not be the healthiest or best solution.
For who On these mornings then, how much earlier are they going to school?
Presumably they have breakfast at home when mum's not working and then they get taken to school.
If the trip to school is that much earlier, is there a breakfast club they can attend?

Cortisol (stress) soars between 6-10am and the body cannot digest food properly. Ancestors would hunt and gather in the morning and eat the pickings in the afternoon.
If breakfast must be taken in the car, a banana, <10 nuts, and bottled water is a good start to the day.

Jeeves: Ten past nine, sir.
Bertie Wooster: [irritated] Ten past nine!? Is the building on fire?
Jeeves: Not that I've been informed, sir, no.
