Clip on weights on alloys??
Discussion
Just had 4 new tyres and have a slight wobble in the steering at 70mph.
Had a look at the wheels and they didn't use any stick on weights, just clip on weights on the inner rim. They are marked IAW Zn which I read are ok for alloys, but I thought to properly balance you need weights on the outer edge too ( or stick on weights in the middle). Is this correct? Have the garage cut corners?

IME after the new/replacement tyre is fitted the machine shows the required amount of weight for inner & outer sides of the wheel. After the appropriate weights are put on the wheel is spun again & the amount shown is then usually zero. If it isn't the process is repeated.
That's certainly the way both the tyre places I use have always done it as I always watch the whole process.
If in doubt go back, explain the wobble issue & get them to redo them.

That may not be the case. If the machine says 0 then it doesn't need a weight.
3 of the wheels on my wife's car (307) have no weights on the outside & clip-ons on the inside. No issues & I drive it regularly - 250 mile round trip last Tuesday - so would notice.
Can't say I'm a fan of clip on weights on the outside of alloys either - more for the damage to the paint than aesthetics.
