No link to vendor or car, and apologies not in the Pork forum, but had to post this.

Respect to the person who put these miles on

There's one at my mates place having a bit of work done to it. The condition of it would make you cry. Don't think it has ever been cleaned, inside and out frown

Looking at Autotrader, the next gt3 has 50k miles and is 20k dearer.
If it's been serviced, id say all necessary parts would have been replaced.
Personally, Id consider it...

Putting 30k a year on it, hero.

Isn't there a chap in readers cars with 300k on a normal 996? Actually this is a 997, yes?

If I was in the market for a GT3 I would consider this if it was sub £50k and a keeper, covered by Porsche for another 9 months and perhaps extendable?

Only thing that would nag me is the PCCB ...

It's a tough old engine if looked after and frankly they all sound like a bag of spanners on start up anyway. I often find with mine my aural sensory perception is heightened due to temporary blindness from the blue smoke anyway.

I'd be more concerned about the bores wearing and the ceramics needing to be changed...them the suspension...

The brakes will be expensive but suspension, it's just a car? Bore wear surely could be managed with a rebuild? No wonder none of them get driven to sensible mileages, it's a production Porsche surely not a one off factory race car confused

Don't bet on suspecting not. smile

I've been on track with the 996 GT3 (with different owner) this chap owned before this 997 - it had 180,000 miles on the odo, engine never opened, and its straight-line punch was virtually the same as my 997 GT3.

Of course you can fix anything...but depends at which point it makes commercial sense to pay for a lower mileage example instead.

Not sure. Value will plummet over at 200k miles surely?

It depends if you want an investment or not. They'll always be a buyer I'm sure?

If you bought a 150k mile GT3 that's already worth 20k less than the next cheapest one and still worry about its value then you're a buffoon to be honest. It's a car that's been used so crack on and use it.

I would love that, drive to the ring and back etc don't worry about it.

The only issue I have is the brakes, would prob have to go back to steel.

Is the Official Porsche Warranty transferable when the car is being sold by an independent dealer ?
