Mileage is too high, porsche warranty limit is 125k miles.
Reading how Porsche warranty deals with warranty at the best of time I wouldn't be too concerned. Go into it with your eyes open and find a good specialist to look after the car. Then just enjoy. Good point about going back to regular brakes as well.mikearwas said:
It looks tempting but I wouldn't mind betting that it's not far away from needing a rebuild which will be circa 20k.
Which is interesting as someone said above that a low miles example would be around 20k more expensive.I maintain that cars like this are for using properly. I said the same to the guy who bought the Clio R27 with only 9k miles on it.
Whilst over in Japan recently we had the pleasure of driving a big mileage (can't remember exactly but was well into 6 figures) Honda NSX.
Can honestly say it was one of the most taught and responsive driving cars I've ever driven.
I'd happily have that GT3 and the change over a 10k mile car that's never been used properly

It all comes down to whats been done really.
Things like bushes perish over time and if the owner has spent the money in the right places it will be fine.
Shells do lose some rigidity over time, ask any race team, but if its been used mostly on the road and looked after properly then it will be fine. You average driver wont notice the 0.2% reduction in stiffness.
The main issue would be general engine wear (leak down test required really) plus gearbox wear.
These are popular cars and plenty of specialists will rebuild engines and gearboxes for reasonable costs.
The price is another discussion though.

I'm loving this car..... if the PCCB's are ok, I don't see what the problem is. I sold my 997.2 GT3 recently as it was a museum piece that I felt guilty driving. This car is what I'd want to replace mine with - a truly useable GT3.
Perfect spec too - although I prefer white (if I'm being picky)

I like it, I also like the fact you wouldn't be as precious about using it as it should be used.
Yeah I suspect whoever buys this is going to use it daily.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
