I've got a silver V60 Polestar and absolutely love it - got it in Jan 2016 as a pre reg one with about 30 miles on the clock - most of which I'd done and saved a LOT off list price
As others have said the standard spec comes with everything and the only choice you have is the colour - if you spec one of the usual german suspects to this level then price is way higher
What most of the other P* owners I know agree on is its understated/sleeper nature
I've had Volvo T4's and before the P* a Volvo S60R for several years which was great and I'd hoped/waited for Volvo to bring out a decent performance Volvo - rather than just the R - Design ones - all look but little in the way of more go
Yes the original P* 3.0 version has an older design engine and gearbox than the newer 2.0 4 Pot version and on a track it's better balanced as lighter on front axle - but to be honest I don't care - I love the engagement and torque delivery of the 3.0 6 pot and the exhaust note when it's in Sport mode and the exhaust baffles are opened up
The Ohlin dampers are amazing in the way they both allow the car to handle and yet damp the ride well
Over the years I've been lucky to get to drive all sorts of sports cars and super cars - and hand on heart when you drive a P* you won't believe its a Volvo
The only 2 downsides for me are that the mpg isn't great and sadly one day I will have to replace it
It's one of the few cars I've had that you find reasons and excuses to just go for a drive and find routes that have tunnels - like the Hindhead one ! :-)
There has always been a bit of "Badge snobbery" where Volvo has been concerned - my advice would be to judge the P* by its ingredients and how it makes you feel to drive it - not by the badge - so go drive one !

I didn't need another big car (already have an XF Sportbrake), but I was blown away on the test drive and then managed to negotiate a VERY hefty discount on the list price.
As another owner of one of these plus having the privilege of driving other brands i say safely say these cars are way under rated!
btw i not saying this just because i own one! i see myself as giving an honest opinion. before this i was looking at purchasing the new Focus RS and actually drove it. when i ended up driving one of these, it massively changed my view and ended up buying one. reasons> its a bloody fast estate car that is a fantastic package that Volvo have done a poor marketing on. Ok, its not perfect, but then no car is. Its a car that can be used everyday and still put most other cars in this period to same, obviously being realistic with pricing.

I had a V60 T4 for a while and loved it. I agree with an earlier poster who reckons the V60 is probably the best looking small estate car on the market, which is good going when you remember it has been on sale for almost 6 years.
Sadly (but understandably) not enough people are willing to spend £28k on a Volvo, when a BMW or Audi is probably a safer place to put your money.

I bought a 2 week old pre-reg with 50 miles on the clock last Feb. Obviously it had to be Smurf Blue!
Coming from a long history of Impreza ownership the P* is a significant step up but still retains a real sense of character!
The car is superbly engineered, very practical, has every option ticked, great road presence, fantastic 6-pot and sounds absolutely amazing.
Yes the fuel consumption isn't great, the vehicle tax is high and the comfort & noise over rough surfaces isn't great but personally I can live with that for the grin factor every time I drive it. For similar money I could have maybe bought an Audi S4 or 6-pot Audi/BMW diesel but then everyone else is driving those.......

That's his weekend play toy...well, in theory at least, as I don't think it's moved a great deal over the past few years. He bought it not long after I bought my 147 GTA as I couldn't stop raving over the noise of the busso engine. He randomly text me saying he'd brought this home one evening; fsh and low-ish mileage with the added benefit (or negative depending on your point of view) of a few extras such as a Scorpion exhaust, Q2 diff, and uprated speakers from memory too...
Spectacularly good looking car in the colour combo he has. I have made several offers to take it off his hands but with little to no success so far

I'd love one - I think it is one of the best looking estates out there, and super cool to me... but still too expensive! Another £10k off in a year or two and I'd be extremely interested.
The 335/340i does form strong competition though... hmmm... but I like this for its rarity.

Looks great. Keep me in the loop if it ever comes up for sale. Been on 3 seperate occasions to buy one. All priced very high, promised to be exceptional condition. First turned out to be stolen recovered, 2nd and 3rd ones were rotten. Still one of the best looking saloon cars ever made. Will pop my Alfa cherry eventually I spent an afternoon at the local volvo shop during the summer - I was supposed to be looking at the plug in hybrid v60 (which I did) but the sales chap had just come back from the new polestar staff funday, spent ages showing me film clips on his phone. Had I been buying for myself, I think the polestar would have been cheaper to buy with pcp discounts than the hybrid.....
