Try again - Chris Brown is a singer. *sigh*
a quick 2 minute google/youtube search led to this shot of a horrid (to me anyway) matte red first gen Ferrari Calfornia in the video "Lifestyle" by Rich Gang feat. Young Thug. You're right though that most rappers don't modify their cars absolutely horribly the way they did in the early 2000s; in fact most are quite subtle, with only the occasional ridiculous coloured matte paintjob - though this is ultimately in keeping with what a lot of under-40s with money do to their cars, regardless of nationality or even affinity towards hip hop.
Silly things still remain though - most motorcycles in hip-hop videos (such as "Bad and Boujee") look sh!te.
Are we honestly trying to have a discussion about the antediluvian nature of hip-hop references made by a bunch of mostly old white men on a British car forum though???
Anyway, I think this new Mercedes is ridiculous, but undoubtedly it will sell in droves to (insert cliche here - Emirati/Chinese/Russians/footballers/hip-hoppers)

It would be nice if Merc did some "heritage" versions - some period colours, retro options and restrained design - like Land Rover did for the defender.
They did until very recently. You could buy a very plain G280 CDI professional or G300 CDI professional in a number of different chassis versions (including a van). It was available in LHD or RHD. It came in all the original colours like light ivory and agate green. It had the dashboard from the first 463 models. Steel wheels. It had the original, modest black plastic front end. This model was available until last month, I'm sure. It looks a thousand times cooler than most of today's Gs.Sadly, the current G350d professional is a bit of a poseur's motor with black alloy wheels, albeit only 16" in diameter.
Previously, you could buy a G270 CDI worker.
They still offer a cab chassis G300 CDI professional in the Australian market: http://www.mercedes-benz.com.au/content/media_libr...
Edit: here is the brochure for the 2010-2016 professional series. What lovely cars. http://www.mercedes-benz.de/content/media_library/...

He behaves more like a rapper though, so that has to count.
Please explain what behaving 'more like a rapper' means - how exactly DO rappers behave? Do they all behave the same? Do they all buy $1 million cars and wrap them? I for one would really like to know. Take your time, I'll wait...The vast majority of rappers are not going to spend over $1 million USD to buy a Laudelet (if anything they'd possibly buy a G500 4×4² if that's what they really wanted) as if you had any understanding of a rapper's mindset, their first thought would be "for $1 million I could have 4-6 REALLY nice cars instead of just one".
The rappers who actually could afford a Laudelet, like Jay-Z (net worth $510 million), Dr Dre (net worth $710 million), Sean Combs (net worth $750 million) would NEVER buy this thing. Why? Because they're all middle-aged men who all grew out of the 'buy a crazy car and wrap it' phase, that's why.
Let me guess - as you're from biker from Devon you're probably someone who doesn't like hip-hop and doesn't really know anything about that culture having only seen some news reports and music videos on the internet.
See how silly this 'game of assumptions' can be?

I'm feeling particularly curmudgeonly today!
