Yeah, heard about the packaging issue. Although I also think an auto box would put the S1 dangerously close to the S3 in a straight line. If you avoid launching it and let the gearbox warm up they are fine, although with a map like Revo's to 330bhp they really need a Sachs clutch, then you can enjoy thrashing it. DTUK boxes are a bit more gentle I think, I know a few people who had them on with standard clutch.

The RS3 is a joy in a straight line but not so much the twisties. Hopefully they have done something with the chasis and balance this time. Lovely interior and 5 cylinder engine note though. Make it as good as the Golf R in the corners and give it the option of a manual box and it will be a sure-fire winner in my book.
