Vauxhall XE = RED top
Toyota BEAMS = BLACK top
VW G60 = The Grenade
Pinto = almost any Ford 8v according to some hehe

I had an EF shape civic 1.6i-16 about 10 years ago which ended up being owned by me twice and at least 3 of my mates. It was affectionately known as "the silver tool" still to this day if anyone is trying to describe that particular model of civic it would be called "tool shape"

But they're all pretty common nicknames for them, not one that is just used by a group of 10/15 or so people

Wasn't beetle a nickname for its product adopted by VW in the 50ies, after being simply called Volkswagen and formerly KDF-Wagen?
I also nominate the nickname the thing for the VW 181
The 2CV is known as duck in german-speaking countries
The 126p is called maluch in Poland, translates to mite, as in small thing/person
