Just how strong are Ferrari horses? As in on dyno's as an average do they make the claimed power?
Who cares? That's not why you buy one.

this really is a bit too much in a road car. I mean the numbers are wow, but is it any good on the road at speeds up to, say, about 70mph?

Ferrari returning to four individual rear lights makes me feel warm inside.

Looks like a 550 Maranello on steroids.

I was driving to work along side a 550M today.

Just such an elegant car, sure you know its a GT not a track special but absolutely gorgeous and totally classy.

Much like this isnt.

I always thought it was the mid v8's that got the bling and flash and the front v12 gt's are a little more grown up. But not any more I guess.

If Mansory or Kahn made a car that looked like that with those wheels, we would be ripping the st out of it.
This x 1000. This car is clearly overstyled to appeal to the Chinese market.

Hideous.

812?

So it's not named after total cubic capacity like the 500 Superfast or the 599 GTB.

It's not named after the swept capacity per cylinder like the 488 GTB.

It's not the number of litres, then cylinders, like the 612 Scaglietti.

Each hundred bhp + number of cylinders?

Enough pondering - I'm just going to look at it & drool.
I was thinking the same thing - the name always has a meaning, and I couldn't work out this one.

Don't care. It's awesome. Front-engined V12 Ferraris are what is best in life (contrary to what Conan or Genghis Khan might say).
Reading these posts, it seems Ferrari do round off some numbers. The 288GTO should be the 298 but that sounds more like a bus and the F50 was named the F50...........for no reason whatsoever as it came out in 1995 so should be the F48!

Someone also stated that the wheels on the 812 remind them of TSW Venoms! In the immortal words of Delboy......."No way Pedro" The 812 alloys are lovely, the Venoms are possibly the worst wheels I've ever seen despite most Vauxhalls having them during the late 90's.

Just look at the stick McLaren are getting for the 720S. If the Superfast was a McLaren I'm sure PHer's would be calling for them to be burned in the streets. wink

Just an amazing looking car and that performance. Like the F12 but this is certainly several steps forward.

Hopefully F12 prices now plummet to about £10k, I might get one then smile

I genuinely prefer the Corvette.

Not sure a £250k Ferrari should look quite so similar to a Vette.

I'm going to buck the trend here, and instead of doing what almost everyone has done by commenting purely on its aethetics, I'm going to say I'm glad Ferrari have made a big NA V12 GT car with stonking performance. Long may it continue!

I'd have thought a forum full of car enthusiasts would have had more posts saying something than above, rather than moan it looks a bit fussy etc.

Totally agree, the oily bits sound epic but why can't Ferrari get the looks right as well? This has 4 rear tail lights and 4 exhaust pipes and yet compare this fat arse to previous Ferrari behinds

v

Someone took a Ferrari on holiday and it mated with a Royal Mail post office van....

Or a red Nissan GT-R wink oops
