NSL dual carriageway, lorry moves to lane 2 and overtakes a slow Peugeot going no more than 50mph, Peugeot speeds up where now the lorry doesn't have enough oomph to go any faster and can't move back into lane 1 because they're both side by side. This carries on for a few minutes until lorry finally signals and kind of forcefully moves left a bit. At this point slow red Peugeot slows down to let the lorry in.

Not the first time I have seen this happen and it's happened to me to where I have come across a driver going 60 mph, I move out to over take at 70 mph, the other driver goes from 60 to 70 mph too.

Are these road trolls? Or do these people really not realise what they're doing and how it's affecting the road users around them?

In my experience, this 'behaviour' is deliberate and on the increase.

I travel a reasonable amount with work and not a week goes by without someone trying this on me. Unfortunately, my daily is a little athsmatic to say the least so I can also fall foul in certain circumstances.

I am not sure...

But I think it's a case of people not wanting to be passed.
But whether it's done consciously or subconsciously is another discussion. On the motorway I'm always on cruise control and find it very frustrating, especially when you move out into L3 to overtake some idiot in L2 and they speed up and you look like a tt.

They're as bad as the people that overtake on a motorway, pull back into lane 1 and then immediately slow down meaning I have to pull out and overtake them. Worst was me overtaking the same car 3 times going down the A1, I kept a constant 70mph the entire time.

I think it's mainly people who aren't on cruise control and have either let up a bit on the accelerator or haven't realised that the road incline has steepened, thus causing their speed to slowly begin to drop. When they get overtaken however, especially by a lorry, this makes them wake up and check their speedo, at which point they realise they weren't going as fast as they thought they were and put their foot down a bit. So no, I don't think it's trolling, just people not paying attention in the first place and then being stupid and ignorant of other road users when correcting themselves.

Was there a reason the wagon didn't slow down and drop in behind?

Not unusual & dropping back to pull in behind the other driver if they're matching your speed is the answer.
Some then decide to slow down & the whole saga begins again. In those cases I consider it to be deliberate.
Have had it driving lorries & again when towing.

Not really. It almost always takes two to turn a small situation into a larger one.

If the trollee doesn't play, then there's no game.

Personally, I never run into this problem. But if I did, then my response would be just to floor it past them and make some distance from the muppets.

If I was in a very slow vehicle then I'd just tut and move back in.

I had that, a guy in the gold qashqui, 7 times he overtook me around the M25 total cock socket. I never changed my speed once. All started when I overtook him in the outside lane. He started to match my speed, then continued from there.

Good game, that. See how many times the tosser orbits you. Particularly if your passenger hold up a scorecard for each orbit.

had this on one my bikes a few times - not an issue on the fun bike as it's more than quick enough to up the pace and get past, but on the little er5 could be an utter PITA. Actually had it once on a single carriageway road, was defintely deliberate as he waited for me to be in line with his quarter panel then booted it for half a mile until he hit the queuing traffic and I filtered past - I get it your V6 Omega is quicker than my commuter bike - the fact that said bike sounds like a fart in a drainpipe should give you a clue its performance is nothing to write home about.

some idiots just dont like to be overtaken, they are retards.
Seen it all the time.

Another thing that annoys me is idiots who pass you out and go onto an outside line only for them to take the next exit a mile away....why not just stay behind me eh?

My car might look asthmatic but it can always spring a surprise or too....smokin

And, the wagon having dropped in behind again, the Peugeot would simply have slowed down once more - rinse, repeat ...

Is that so difficult to understand?

Small mindedness. Or small penis or whatever. Except I'm not well hung and don't drive like a tt so... or maybe I'm more well hung than these tts.

Problem with a limiter is you are stuck with it. Happens all the time to me. I think it is a subconscious move by the offender.

I run out of tuts after a few 120 miles or so. Start wishing for gattling guns.

Will it? Unlikely. The Pug driver's just woken up and realised there's a wagon passing them.

B'sides, the wagon doesn't need to drop that far back to pull in.
