Been living in this area for a year now. Great house but a very narrow road.

When I first moved in I told my opposite neighbours I would always park on my drive despite it being on a sheer incline and having just enough space for two cars. I need to remove the side garden one day... Anyway..

Neighbours opposite are back from abroad and have like 5 grown up kids all with families. It's bedlam with their barbarian type pick up trucks.

No qualms about parking right opposite us and leaving censored all space to reverse into our drive or leave the house. It's like doing a 10 point turn or coming back on myself to get the direction of the car right.

The other neighbour. I refer to him as 'Jagman' just does not give a st at all. He has a 2 car drive but the lazy sod just parks opposite also despite having space in front of his house.

To top it off when the barbarian lot are away in France for half a year he uses their drive.

Well censored it. I am leaving my car on the road all weekend and however long I want.

Cue transit van and cars honking for through access probably!

Please don't evade the swear filter it's there for a reason.

Wait until you need to leave the house at 6am on Sunday morning, then just knock and politely ask them if they wouldn't mind moving their cars. Repeat until they get the idea smile

People are just selfish these days. It's the way our society has gone.

It's OK, it's not the only road in my town. They can reverse, drive back on themselves for a few yards, take a right and go round the roundabout and drive perpendicular on the street behind which is belive it or not. A main road!!!!!!

At the very least mate if you are gonna park opposite at least say hello or wave or give a smile. Remember one of his sons watching me pull out whilst he is as parking up. Off he pissed off inside whilst I was trying to get the estate out.

They just park the Barbarian, discovery or 5 series Estate wherever lol.

And their folks had the gaul to mention that if I parked on the street there is a high chance my car could be reversed into by accident.

That's why the M3 was sold and i bought a stheap

Nope they have perfectly flat drives.

EDIT: just looked outside and he is now blocking the old lady nextdoors drive.

I'll park my car back on drive, but will be having words with this absolute tool today.

We face a similar situation too, majority of folk who live on our road are "older/retired", guy across the road insists on moving both his cars each morning around 6am and parking directly opposite our driveway, I see no logic to this what so ever, other than to just be awkward, even more annoyingly is the fact that his driveway will comfortably fit a minimum of 3cars, I have spoke with him about this previously but his answer was simply "its what ive always done".... I just dont see the logic behind some peoples actions.

Missus was dead set on this house. I had reservations from the get go regarding parking.

And being a petrolhead unsure if it makes the problems worse, can't even work on the cars due to the incline on drive lol

Yeah, I do know what you mean. Mine had all sorts of criteria about location, schools, numbers of bedrooms, parks etc.
Mine were simply, generous driveway, proper sized garage, structurally sound - these are a must and everything else I'm flexible hehe

Get a loud backbox for your car and play them a tune everytime you have to do a 10point turn to get in the drive, when they complain explain that they could stop it but not parking awkwardly.

ST estate has the resonator removed and the previous M3 had a full Miltek system.

Now the M3 is gone the ST is probably still the loudest car in street.

To be fair they ain't complained about the cars.

If you got a drive I don't understand why you would not park on it. It's just common sense.

Especially on such a narrow road like ours.

This old chestnut coffee

Why is it that some people have about 4 cars yet its always the car nearest the house they need to get out at 7am every morning?
Cue move all the other cars out in the road - slamming every door on each car just to let the neighbours know. Then move them all back when the top top car is away on its journey, complete with more ritual slamming of doors and checking in the boot to make sure that cats not got in there.

Why dont they just park them all on the street wobble

We have this, its not that bad but it can be a bit of an arse, I did wreak my revenge some years back, in a foul mood and accidentally reversed the People carrier into a crappy old battered and tired looking Megane abandoned across the road, didnt half smack it, my fault entirely but in mitigation, it was a black car, parked against their awful, 8 foot, oppressive, light sapping Leylandi hedge, it was dark and the galaxy had tinted windows in the rear.

The owner wasnt bothered and said he was going to scrap it soon anyway, didnt stop him claiming £1500 to get the door fixed, six months later apparently he carried out his threat and scrapped it, replete with its shiny new door, surprised they paid that much out and didnt write it off and even more suprised he didnt just cut his losses and scrap it there and then ?

You have said you have been on this house for a year so perhaps moving is not ideal just now. I would just bear it and move in a few years time. As you said, even being a good house, having a steep drive and narrow street is not ideal for a petrolhead or otherwise. Your wife should also accept and support you in your love for cars and what that means when choosing a house to buy/move.

People like your neighbours are everywhere, lots of people today are selfish, rude and don't respect the others that is why our society is, on the whole, broken. Off course there are many many exceptions but the rotten apples tend to stick out, poor or rich.

You may be able to reason with them but I don't think they will listen to you, it may make things worse for you actually. If they were decent and respectful people in the first place they wouldn't be parking like that. Honest truth they don't give a toss about you or your family or the difficulties their selfishness imposes on your everyday life, in this case the cars and parking.

They are probably just as angry about your noisy cars as you are about their parking.

The ST is fairly mild noise wise to be honest.

I forgot about the guy with the impreza hatchback two doors down.
