Alpina B10 3.3 manual; over the last ~30Kmile since zeroing the obc;

Average speed: 34mph
ditto o/a mpg: 30.3

- frankly the latter still surprises me !

ETA: that suggests I've sat in it for roughly 6weeks solid. I'm happy with that, it's a wonderful thing to drive.

And you're still getting better mpg than my last 4 cars, and I live nowhere near London.

Just reset it today actually but was 48mph.

No motorway or DC anywhere near me but lots and lots of empty fast roads.

Can't quite match that - this was London to Glasgow overnight, no Motorways - A and B-roads only:

My day-to-day average is too depressing to post.

Nice try, but I reckon I can still tell the first number in the max speed box hehe

OK, it was one run a few years back.

That's impressive. I averaged an impressive 70mph from Buckinghamshire to St Austell in Cornwall, that's only 260 miles though.

Ah, probably makes sense. If I did your journey, I'd be on about 10mpg.

2.9L BMW 330d manual (5sp)

Don't know what the last one was (petrol receipt is in the car...) but min and max over the time I've had it, based on calculated mpg and OBC's mph (reset after each fill):

Best mph: 50.8mph/43.84mpg
Best mpg: 46.2mph/45.67mpg
Worst mph, worst mpg: 15.4mph/25.82mpg

I mostly drive it round town, so I've got a lot more data for lower speeds... seems that average 18mph equates to around 30mpg. The data is rather noisy, but overall it seems that <18mph means <30mpg and >=18mph means >=30mpg.

(I know it's >=18mph for >=30mpg, because I've had one tank where I did an 18mph average exactly, and the car did 30.34mpg smile)

Mine's 17mph over the last month! Might be because I live in SW London.

Mostly city driving with occasional motorway.

X5 3.0sd - 21.4mpg, average speed 19.8mph. Claimed 34.4mpg combined.
I get the feeling that if I had your car, I'd be doing similar MPGs. Mine's a petrol 3 litre so hitting around 14mpg. Wouldn't mind if it were a sports car with a big V8.
Same engine in the E39 did about 17mpg when it was retired to city use.

Don't think anyone would mind a V8 sports car, have been eyeing up the Audi S5 4.2 driving

31mph at an average of 55mpg over 31,000 miles since September 2015.

Most of it is motorway and A-road driving in traffic at ~40 to 60mph.

Over the past 3700 miles 31mph at 21mpg from a 4.2 V8, not too shabby.
