Hi,

I've got a small race battery in my Griffith and it has quite a few cables going to it. Not quite sure why yet, but it seems to have two large positive cables and two large negative cables, and a smaller positive and negative cable which runs to an amplifier in the boot.

Now I want to connect in a CTEK battery charger socket which also attaches directly to the battery. But there is barely enough space on the threaded posts for the existing cables, definitely no more space for anything else.

What's the best option here? Is there a correct method of attaching the cables to a remove positive and negative post and then having just one cable running to the battery terminals? Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Daniel

May have just answered my own question actually!

I'm guessing two of these should do the job.

You can get battery clamps with multiple posts - might be neater.

A lot of modern cars have banks of fuses on the battery, single line from the terminal, multiple outlets. The Ford Fiesta one is quite simple and probably easy to get a hold of?

I have a battery like this, hence the issue with the small studs

Could do, but it’s in the door and on the wrong side of the car to my charger, so a bit of a hassle each time, given that my garage is quite narrow. Also, my socket in the car doesn’t work, so I need to get that fixed first!

If the amplifier cables are always live (with a smaller gauge remote switch on cable coming from the head unit) you could potentially tap the cables there? The ctek won't pass much more than 5 amps of current; well within the ability of your amp cables.

Autoleads might be able to offer you an alternative.
