Sellers remorse, implies that you would buy it back? How many here would put the cash in their pocket back into a car that they likely sold for a reason at that time. Excluding those rarities that have increased in value I suspect many are looking back with rose tinted glasses.
I do agree that there's always an element of rose tinted glasses with cars you've had in the past, but I've had faster and more expensive cars since my 200sx yet none have matched it for me overall.

I paid £12k for it with 19k miles on it back in 2002, had it four years and sold it for £3750 with 60k miles on it, I'd have it back tomorrow if the next owner hadn't smashed it up. frown

It's so hard to find nice ones now the drift scene has really taken off.

I dont wish I kept any, here's some of the cars I've had over the last 4 years. I'm more excited about what I could get next.
I love trying different cars

For me it would be my first car - a 1991 Eunos Roadster (MX5), Dark Green with Tan interior. I sold it (6.5k) for more than I paid for it (4k) and a few years on it turned up looking worse off at 1.5k - same owner. I debated for days about buying it back, repairing it, storing it but in the end I decided that regardless it would probably never exceed the expectations I had set in mind.

Better off to leave the past in the past and look for the next new experience.

Well I did this - sold my immaculate cobault blue 996.1 Carrera then three years later saw it in a local garage and bought it back - still have it smile

Of the wonderful (and not so wonderful) cars I've owned over the years there are three I regret selling most:

1. Porsche 997 GT2: No wonder every fan calls it the "widow-maker"; the thing was an absolute beast around the Nurburgring! I found a slow in, fast out technique best on circuit. Once in a straight line you just lit the fuse and counted to three...

2. Porsche 997 GT3RS (Gen I): Probably my favourite car to date. Okay, pretty horrid on the road what with its super stiff suspension and clattering fly-wheel but what a joy on-track. Engine, brakes, handling all in perfect balance. It also had sat-nav, air con and cup holders!

3. BMW 1 series M Coupe: A brilliant road car. Just the right size to thread down country lanes, practical and super torque-rich. Plus it had looks to die for (in my opinion at least).

The cherry on the cake, of course, is that all three have gone on to appreciate heavily AFTER I sold them. Boo-hoo for me!

I still dearly miss my Evo V. It wasn't special but I've never driven anything like it before or since.

At the same time I was saving for a GTR and panicking about how quick valued were increasing, I was also in the middle of a messy house sale.

How does the R33 GTR compare with the Evo as an experience, it's a car (any Skyline GTR) I want to own at some point. I feel the same way about my VI I had as you did your V, nothing else drives like them.
Chalk and cheese. The GTR is biblically fast and eats up A roads and motorways. It doesn't feel anywhere near as chuckable as my Evo though. It also feels like if you take liberties with it then you'll end up in a mess, where the Evo felt like it'd limits were far in excess of mine.

It depends what you enjoy most, you can fling the GTR around but it doesn't enjoy it like the Evo does. However the GTR is much nicer to life with on long journeys.

Not car but bike.
I had an absolutely mint Yamaha Virago 535 circa 1990. Sold for double what I bought it for with only 16k genuine miles.
Its a classic and very sought after. Really regret that one.

This^^^^ bought the best late 944 turbo I could find 8 years ago. In the position to buy something much faster if I wanted to but can't really see the point now.

Regret selling my balboni, looks, speed, and a wonderful noise. Great toy for the long road trip or just to go into town for lunch.

Very timely thread. I sold my Z4 3.0si coupe last year. Missed her enormously ever since.
Fast and comfortable - a perfect GT.
Today I see she is back up for sale on Autotrader...... Trouble is the double garage is full, so what would i sell? Elise S1, never! Supercharged Elise 111R.....maybe but not yet as I haven't amassed enough miles or memories.
The petrolheads eternal dilemma.
In a dream, cash not an issue, world, I'd also still have my 1991 Astra GSI, red Alfa 33 and sublime Volvo T5. Or maybe this is a serious case if rose tinted glasses!

Had around 35 cars now I think, only one I really regret letting go:

Was a fresh import, single turbo, 6 speed Supra built as a track car by Waste Sports in Japan. Extremely responsive, with circa 500hp, was built for handling more than outright power. It could corner at incredible speeds, especially after fitting R888 tyres.

I prefer my current one, it is faster, has better road manners, has an even better spec, and doesn't have a bodykit or giant wing, but i still miss this one.

Lovely supra. I regret selling a lot of cars I've owned and won't bore everyone with them all but this is the one I regret letting go the most as you just don't see them on the road and they're massively underrated. By the time I'd finished it was 403bhp. I'm friends with the guy who now owns it and have first refusal when it's back up for sale.

It's like a fit ex that treats you like st, you just keep wanting to go back for more.

64 reg focus st2 sold it and brought a sensible 530d but miss stupid torque steer straight away. Even though it was built by the blind and had the worst infotainment ever that car was hilarious fun. cry

I'm not surprised and I'd pretty much kill for one of them, and it's my fave version of the Gallardo. smokin

My old MK5 RS2000 4x4. Had 40k on the clock, as new inside and out. Sold it for £3k around 10 years ago to buy a track car. Would be worth 3 if not 4 or 5 times that now. Was a POS to drive (FWD was better) but probably one of the rarest cars I will ever have owned.

I had a Smart Roadster and a Nissan Figaro (go ahead, laugh) and I regret saying goodbye to both of them but personally I also like to try new things so while I may buy another Smart some time in the future, I have other bucket list cars I would like to own.
