Sold my Vette a few weeks ago to a a fellow PHer after 4 1/2 years of ownership.
I wasn't even intending on selling it, but with the other cars, the cycling and all the travel, I just wasnt using it.
Gutted to let it go but glad it's gone to someone who will use it properly.
For the price, its one of the most awesome performance cars on the road.
You sold it to my brother and he was good enough to take me for a spin in it... bloody hell its loud! Goes like stink though and looks amazing- he loves that car already!I wasn't even intending on selling it, but with the other cars, the cycling and all the travel, I just wasnt using it.

Had similar - had to sell my original Lightning several years ago and regretted it for years. Bought another recently, a FAR better example, but it just didn't 'speak to me' (or some such similar bks). So sold it inside 9 months

Yep!! I still am. This time last year I sold my SLK 55 AMG. Thought I was bored of it but when it sold and I watched it drive off with the awesome V8 loveliness I regretted it straight away. A year on I still wish I had kept it. Unfortunately I can't replace it at the moment due to setting up my own business but I will one day.
Having just bought an SLK55 I feel your pain... amazing noise and performance irocfan said:

Having just bought an SLK55 I feel your pain... amazing noise and performance I sold a 1970 Camaro RS in 2005 and miss it every day! Unfortunately the market has changed to point where it'd cost me 3 times the purchase price to own one again in the same condition. I was 22 at the times, it was my daily and I was worrying about spoiling it with winter salt and the general running costs, so I made a rash decision. In hindsight I should've just bought a cheap shed and kept the Camaro for sunny weekends but that mindset comes with age and experience doesn't it!
Watching (and hearing!) it drive away was terrible.

Bitterly regret letting my E36 318is escape.
Want it back. New owner will not let me have it.
How I now hate Stoke on Trent!!!
Same here, see my previous post.Want it back. New owner will not let me have it.

They are just about the nicest balanced car I've owned or driven.
Everything just works well. Controls, dials, seats, gearbox . . . .
Sold mine n 2012 and it hasn't been MOT'd or taxed since 2014 so looks like its no more :-(
B7 RS4 Avant. Manual, NA V8 that spins to 8500rpm, AWD for UK weather, big enough boot for a pushchair and a chocolate lab, lovely looking imo and just the right size.
Everything now is either turbo charged, automatic/dsg, huge, and not all that appealing to look at (or looks just like the diesel in the range).
I've found the closest replacement is probably a Golf R manual estate. Please Audi, make an RS3 Estate in manual.

Gosh, there are so many for me. I can probably narrow it down to the five I miss :
Both of my E36 M3 Evos
My second E39 M5
B5 RS4
8L S3 (only because I had it for a long time and have a lot of memories with it)
The problem is, there are so many good cars out there and so little time to enjoy all of them.

Another one here who bitterly regrets selling his SLK55. Had the 'kids are on the way so need to get rid' hat on. Looking back should never have done so adsvx220 said:

Sold my VX220 Turbo to a lovely bloke (which made me feel better), but still miss that car every day. And compared to my Alfa it was dirt cheap to run.
I sold it and bought something with 4 seats because we were starting a family, but in reality I've only actually used my car to take the kids out a handful of times in 4 years so I could have kept the VX after all. Bugger!

Mine is nothing special, but I still miss my Saxo VTR I had for my first car.
It broke, regularly, but was great fun to drive, and in the grand scheme of things if I'd kept it I could've held on to it forever as it wasn't worth the greatest amount of money.
Was devastated when I found out it had been scrapped.
