The only car I regret selling is my L322 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8. I was between jobs, and paying the mortgage was more important than tooling about in a luxury V8 SUV (or so the wife told me, anyway).
Sold it to a mate (a fellow petrolhead), which made me feel a bit better, but I still miss that car every day.
I console myself with the fact that one day, I will have another. One day.

I've had sellers remorse three times:
- My first Clio 182. It was my second car that I'd owned for 3 years, we'd had many adventures together and it never put a foot wrong.
- My Second Landcruiser HDJ80 4.2td. I bought it for an expedition to Iceland and it was immense, couldn't justify keeping it when I got back though.
- My Audi A6 (C6) 4.2 FSI Quattro. It was a fantastic car, best seats I've ever sat in, awesome pace and traction and a muscle car soundtrack.
I sold my Audi C6 estate at the same time my sister was trading in her 2009 118d M Sport. It had sat on the M42 all it's life, her being British Airways Cabin Crew working out of Heathrow. She offered it me for the trade in price and being in between cars I took up her offer. I knew it would be too small for me and my two boys (bikes, holidays etc).
First BMW I owned and I loved it! The steering was sublime and it was as tight as a drum, probably as it just sat at 70mph all of its life. It had got 75k miles and felt brand new.
Talked myself into it being too small/girls car and put it up for sale. Made £500 on it selling it privately and regretted it ever since. Bought a 2007 E91 320d ES but I don't like it, it'll be sold very soon.
Still look at c6 estates with a touch of nostalgia...

I had a little Renault 5 runabout back in 2007 which was mint and a good laugh to drive. Someone rear ended it and paid me out in cash for the damage, I sold it to someone else damaged but was gutted to see it drive off.
I was also sad to seem my Saab 9-3 drive away, although I'd replaced it with a superior car which I already had. I'd spent many hours in the Saab driving to pick up my little girl so it served me well, was very comfy and fantastic on fuel!

I've had this before also. Waved goodbye 6 years ago to a Mk2 Golf GTi 16v in perfect Oak Green paint with a freshly completed ABF 2.0 16v conversion and sitting just how I wanted it. Sold it for £1800 then watched prices sky rocket over the next few years.

Gutted to let it go but glad it's gone to someone who will use it properly.

I bought one of my dream cars in 2015, Evo VI TME.
Was a shade under 400bhp, had the right handling modifications, larger brakes and looked exactly like I wanted it to but fancied something even quicker. I have no regrets with the new one I really, really like it, but if I look at photos or videos of the Tommi Mak it makes me want it back, it was just right!
Any excuse to put a photo up!

Driving to part exchange my old E55 AMG I popped into a service station, looked back at the car and my heart just sank...what have I done? This was such an amazing car - subtle yet amazingly fast. Over three years I spent almost £7,000 keeping everything in tip top condition and it was better this day than ever before.
I part exchanged for £6,500 at a main dealer.
It then popped up in a garage in wales for £10,995 a few weeks later...was tempted to buy it!

About to find myself in the same boat (again!)
Currently have an X350 XJR in death star black, black leather with aluminium trim (no old man mahogany
). I adore this car - it's stupidly quick for something the size of a yacht, lovely place to sit, lots of toys. Perfect combination of comfy civilisation and hooliganism.
But we are also moving house shortly, and it's far too tight fitting it down the shared driveway to the parking at the back of the new place. Tried with our other Jag and it took 15 minutes with two people front and back giving instructions to get it through the dogleg into the back parking area. Don't want to leave it parked up on the road (it's a bit of a rat-run so will only be a matter of time before someone takes off a wing mirror or worse) or leave it parked up a the back where it will very rarely be used.
So, it's going this weekend to be replaced with a somewhat shorter hairdressers car

Not on the same level as most of the stuff on this thread, but I still miss my old Rover 45 1.4. It was bright gold and dented into oblivion and there are go-karts that make more power but, dammit, the thing stuck by me and I had a lot of happy times sitting in those velour seats with the windows rolled down and Planet Rock blasting out of the speakers.
My Alfa 156 V6.
I was leaving the country and had to sell one of the cars as could only store one.
I chose to sell the Alfa in a rush and keep the MX5 track car. I loved the track car but it was so replaceable by comparison. I adored the Alfa and it felt more like "my car" than any other that I've owned.
I regret that sale all the time.

The guy I sold it to got an amazing deal IMHO. Not many like this around.
I'll never forget my 3 year olds sad little face when I told him Daddy's 'fast' car had gone.
Mine will be going soon. I know I'll regret it.After adding 40k miles and driving it daily It was still immaculate.
I dropped it off at the guys house who bought it with my brother in law.

I sold my ST-3 in 2011 or 2012 and i'm still cut up about it. would gladly buy it back for what i sold it for.
it cost a fortune in fuel, tax and insurance, but my word it was good fun and the noise out the back of it was totally at odds to the grey hatchback it appeared to be to the outside world.

I still dearly miss my Evo V. It wasn't special but I've never driven anything like it before or since.
I spent a bit of time and money on the outside, fitting some decent wheels, repainting the faded black trim and had the bodywork tidied up. Never burnt any oil, worked faultlessly and didn't have a spot of rust anywhere on it. Then I had a service who pointed out it was getting ready for a suspension refresh (it was nearly at 100k miles), new wheel bearings, drop links, bushes etc... At the same time I was saving for a GTR and panicking about how quick valued were increasing, I was also in the middle of a messy house sale. So not in the best frame of mind I put a speculative gumtree ad up and the car had gone in three days to the first viewer.
Sigh.
