How to deal with boy racer?
Discussion
So there's a boy racer with a stupidly loud exhaust, don't mind loud, but it sounds awful .
Every time he drives pass the house it's foot to the floor ,at all times of night and is clearly going faster than the 30mph speed limit.
It's getting to the point me and my neighbours are getting really fed up with him, more the speeding than anything else?
I was hoping to catch him stationary to have a polite word, but unable to so far, don't get me wrong I was young once, but this is boardering on the dangerous! Any ideas ?
Edited for full stops due to a helpful reply to my serious question .

I'd try some full stops first.
That's better!
I'd persevere with having a word. You'll get/create an opportunity at some point. In the first instance I'd be as non-confrontational as possible; maybe just ask him to keep it down when he's near the houses. He may well not realise the disturbance and danger he's causing. If it happens again you're far better placed to be more direct.

Maybe catch him down the through aka mcds and have a polite word tell him how you did exactly
The same etc but let him no everyone on the estate is gunning for him and you thought you'd let him no before he gets himself in trouble, he will probably think twice then as he trundles down your road, if he doesn't then he's fair game

If you can't track him down to speak to him personally then report him to the police, repeatedly - hopefully with enough complaints from you and your neighbours they'll send a patrol car to be in your neighbourhood at the appropriate time to 'feel his collar'.
If they won't do anything get your local paper involved, write to your MP, etc - get the neighbours to do the same.

Push an empty push chair out in front of him so he can think about the consequences.
Put a doll in it for added value. You and a few neighbours need to ring 101 and report his reg. number make/model of car and time of day/night, once the complaints start stacking up the police will go and have a chat with the driver. this is what we had to do on the street I live with an idiot with a Focus RS always driving well over the 30mph limit.
I was in a similar situation just before Xmas, didn't help that we live next to speed bumps and on a hill so he'd slow to walking pace and then floor it up the hill bouncing off the limiter in 1st and 2nd, in what is supposedly a 20 mph zone.
A crappy little Civic with a very attention grabbing paint job, which when you looked on the DVLA database wasn't even taxed!
Anyway, report him to the non emergency number, I don't see the Civic around anymore.
