It's never been the same since the proles started getting their hands on money. Now you apparently have to drive something 15 years old and smelling of wee to be classy.

Another bonkers thread.

Heck, any car would look classy when done right. Take the new BMW 5-Series.

Older cars definetely carry more class, I just don't know why...

The comment about Audi's, BMW's, and Mercs are just daft. Yes, sadly, a lot of people driving them feel in some superior which is mildly annoying but to say any of them aren't stylish is being stupid.

Most Audi's over the years have been stylish, if anything the smallest car of the range, the A1, is particularly stylish.
Top comedy. Especially regarding the ridiculous looking Postman Pat Audi A1. hehe

BMW Mercedes and Audi were ONCE 'classy' cars as others have already said, but that era is long gone due to pcp ubiquity, cheap finance and chaverry. Merely white goods now and in reality offering little more then much cheaper to buy Ford or Vauxhall equivalent especially from a drivability perspective.

Still think mine looks good, appreciate they arent to everyones taste.

I like them, but I don't think those wheels will age well. In ten years, five spoke, wide spoke alloys will look very of their time. Just a prediction!
I dont mind the wheels on mine, there are some worse looking ones, plus the tyres arent too expensive, Astras have bigger ones these days, they did some multi spoke ones that look crap, am looking for an AMG one now, before I miss that boat.

Classy. Those alloys are about as blingy as a Defender should go.

The first time I saw a CLS I was struck by its elegance.
It wasn't until 2013 until I bought one.
Wish my dad was around to comment on its styling.

My vote goes to the Lotus range.

Rarely chavved.
British.
Rare enough.
Not too Cheshire or Golf Club.

You know it's 2017 now, not 1961, you can't have toggle switches anymore...

Meanwhile the tech on that will be out of date in a couple of years...like an iPad/iPhone.

Toggle switches are timeless.

When I thought classy classic cars I had in my mind some 70s Merc W114 or an SL, a BMW E9 sauntering through the Alps, an Alfa Romeo Spyder cruising along the Amalfi coast. Not a 15 year old XJ or Citroen laugh

I've always loved the 530 and 535 msport models, even more now they are nowhere near as common, that's my old mans and it's an absolute pleasure to drive put a lot of new cars I've driven to shame!
With all due respect (And speaking as a previous advocate and previous owner of e60s including two 535d M Sports), whilst perhaps you thought that that picture of an e60 sitting in an industrial estate behind a transit van, and beside a skip with a shaven headed bloke called "Big Jim" in shot was showing the "classiness" of the e60 shining through, sadly i think it fits right in these days... frown
rofl

I think that (with the picture as supporting evidence) might be the worst submission of the thread so far
Surely a wind up.

The instagram name too oozes classlessness
This turn of thread is hilarious to me as I have an e60 owned for 8 years that I cannot bear to part with!
Not sure how classy it is, but I love mine and don't see any current sensible reason why i need to change mine just yet!

Maybe if the chancellor gives me £8k for it in a scrappage scheme, but that would mean early ev ownership that I'm not ready for yet. Still have the 300bhp or V8 itch to scratch before then.........
