So to sum up
Everything new is st and German and of course leased and driven by chavs and generally bottom feeders with no class
A selection of old and barge like premium cars are classy
Yup it's definitely a pistonheads thread
Probably best to read the whole thread before attempting to sum it up I would have thought.Everything new is st and German and of course leased and driven by chavs and generally bottom feeders with no class

This turn of thread is hilarious to me as I have an e60 owned for 8 years that I cannot bear to part with!
Not sure how classy it is, but I love mine and don't see any current sensible reason why i need to change mine just yet!
Maybe if the chancellor gives me £8k for it in a scrappage scheme, but that would mean early ev ownership that I'm not ready for yet. Still have the 300bhp or V8 itch to scratch before then.........
Dont get me wrong - i love the e60s. I'd have another in the morning - another LCI 535d M Sport with a remap or an LCI 550i M Sport. Fantastic cars. Not sure how classy it is, but I love mine and don't see any current sensible reason why i need to change mine just yet!

BUT, i wouldnt at all describe them as classy - particularly given how many have ended up in the council estate price range. And likewise "classy" - if it can be used at all to describe a car these days - isnt something i look for in a car anyway.
And with that particular picture and given its setting of behind a transit and beside a skip in a low rent industrial estate and being owned by shaven headed "Big Jim", the phrase "classy" doesnt jump off the page at me.
All IMHO of course.

stylish, high class, superior, exclusive, elegant, sophisticated, smart.
Just thought we should remind ourselves of the definition of classy and maybe start this thread again
Indeed, but as there are no such people in modern society who fit those criteria there are ergo no model chattels to benefit from their association with such people. It's really very simple as to why the PH collective have failed to find a single agreed classy modern car without resorting to modern cars which are a clear pastiche of a classic car. Just thought we should remind ourselves of the definition of classy and maybe start this thread again
When there is no true visible class in a society then no mere manufactured product that can project a style or image that simply does not exist.

Shame the build quality is anything but classy.
For me volvo are heading in the right direction, new s90 and xc90 as long as its not in R design spec with black wheels it looks quite classy.
And same with the Bentley continental gt, as long as its not adorned with tat and black wheels. It has kind of evolved into a thing of beauty in its normal non super duper carbon fibre footballer edition.
YES
NO thanks
