Squadra have got an easy 280bhp out of the 200bhp petrol.

Apparently they think they can reliably get more...

Supports the theory that the 200/280 hp versions are the same bar the remap.

I think what Squadra consider to be "reliable" from a powertrain might differ somewhat from Alfa Romeos wink It's a big assumption to take on a brand new car that the 280bhp and 200bhp versions are identical except for software, not sure I'd do it if I'd just spent £35k+!

Was configuring one and came to this issue, I can't have the blue with the red interiour. Any reasons manufacturers do this?
I mean, are they protecting us from ourselves? Or could it be some weird manufacturing issue? Why would any outside colour limit your choice in interiour?
Edit: the metallic red only comes with black seats rofl come on?

Also, regarding interiors. Most of the demos up for sale have this horrific two tone interior which jars big time. Considering how nice Alfa interiors have been in the past, this one is a big miss.

I mean, it's really awful. Such a disappointment.

You're right, that doesn't look right at all.

This however:

Seems a bit clinical and perfect to me, and I prefer vertical striping.

Drove the quadrifoglio yesterday at Millbrook. It is a very good car indeed. Alfa are definitely back. I also like this proclaimed top down philosophy whereby the lessser models are developed from the halo model rather than the other way round. It may be bullst, but I like the sound of it. They use a carbon fibre propshaft across the range!

Also enjoyed a passenger ride in the very go kart like 4C, being thrown about by Le Mans racer Tommy Erdos. Also a very impressive car.

Now they just need a Guilia coupe with a manual 'box...

Collecting end of month. Price less than £30K with free servicing for three years etc. First Alfa and looking forward to it.

Speciale with only two options being aluminium paddles and front parking sensors. £29999 without Alfa finance and £28999 with.

That two tone interior is hideous - it is especially galling that they used the same approach on the GTA and it looks perfect. The black interior of the one I rented (white car, so looked OK) was a very nice place to be.

I can never understand this. If they have the paint and the seats, why can't you have any combo you liked?
I wanted a green 156 with red seats, but I couldn't have it.
The brochure showed "Recommended matches", "Available matches" and "Not available". Makes no sense!

Can't believe you can't have tan seats in the metallic red. That's an Alfa basic. rolleyes

The dealer looked for cars coming through system and in manufacture. Most seemed to be Blue and Grey (from memory).

Folks, I may be a little late to the discussion but I thought I would add my opinion on how the new Alfa Quadrifoglio stacks up against the germans. Having owned the M3 and C63 this really is the best car I have driven, alright the standard of internal fittings may not be up there with the established brands but as a drivers car this is very special. I would say that to think of it as a cross between a go cart and an M3 would not be far of the mark. Not too many on the roads and in volcano black this is one special car. lick

Is it because in case you order it and then may subsequently cancel they may be left with an 'acquired taste' spec that a dealer may be left with...?

Or could be down to taste. Always used to laugh when reading car brochures and seeing 'not recommended, but available' choice specs - think it was for a light colour exterior with a light trim/seats.

Hardly true, surely?' Go cart' (sic) and M3 either have no suspension or hard, crashy suspension. The QV has a superbly compliant chassis. IMO, of course.

Saw one on the road today, and unlike the 3 Series/A4/Passat/Cortina/wallpaper, it immediately caught my eye. Damn, it's a pretty car.

I'd be happy if it doesn't become a default choice, something a bit different to admire once in a while. I used to think that about BMW once.

Saw my first Giulia on the road at the weekend. It wasn't even a QV, just a standard spec petrol and it looked really good. I know in pictures it looks a bit generic and similar to a lot of cars in this segment but in the metal it really does stand out, the stance, the little details. It's definitely the prettiest car in this class IMO.
