I take it you'd still be laughing if your number plate was clocked, you were caught on cctv and ended up being prosecuted?

It was funny, in the same way that some people watch reality tv to see how crap other people's lives are. I get a certain hit of schadenfreude from knowing someone has so little to enjoy that they would do this.
Indeed, someone was prosecuted for doing it in my home town many years ago. I knew the puddle well, near my old,
school, some young lady walking to work, wide road, some prick swing across the road and fkin' drowned her!

Unfortunately, for him, she got his number and he received a tap on the door that evening and was charged and fined several hundred quid.

I do see some pedestrians standing near large puddles, oblivious to what could happen though.

And to the uninitiated, hitting a deep puddle with one wheel can whip the steering wheel out of your hands. It could be very embarrassing if you then hit the kerb and eventually end up buried in someones finest hawthorn.

When we were kids we enjoyed submerging rocks, bricks,, glass etc in puddles that we knew assholes would be tempted to drive through to soak us. The sound of a car whacking a rock at full pelt as the driver was being a nob iwas so satisfying

and the complete, total W*nker camp too. Would you kick water in someones face too, or perhaps not so easy when you can't just drive away.

It is driving without due care and attention and can result in prosecution.
It's a bit of water, get a grip!

Ah, a Daily Mail link. I'm sure it is 100% factually correct.

It's happened to me a few times. Been soaked with disgusting gutter water.

Not pleasant, and fairly horrible. However... It's not a huge deal. I'm a scum bag, so I don't own anything easily ruined. I'm fairly stable, so I'm not going to cry about it. If you don't laugh about this kinda dumb stuff, your life could very easily be filled with turmoil and stress. Although I'm sympathic to those who are less durable (or who own nicer clothes, ha!).

I guess mostly it's unintended - drivers not paying attention, or misjudging speed / puddles. For those who've done it on purpose - I hope you enjoy it as much when you're on the recieving end biggrin

The next step on from this is adjusting the washer jets to squirt sideways, must look into it!

He also went home in a Zafira, which is far worse than being soaked for a bit.

I was once in a rather unlit section of road just north of Loughborough. There'd been a lot of rain but not enough for standing water, so I guess a drain had blocked up as there was a section with a good few inches of water flooded over half the lane.

With the blackness of the road and the lack of lighting, the van headlamps didn't really pick the puddle out until I was on top of it. I clocked the pool at the same time as I realised there was a poor middle aged lady on the pavement who was about to be on the receiving end of a bow wave. I slowed up a little and pulled out into the other lane but, with a 2 tonne trailer on the back, I wasn't in a position to safely do anything drastic or sudden.

Despite feeling pretty bad for the victim, myself and my passenger ended up in a giggle fit for about 10 minutes. This was because, in the blink of an eye, she had managed reposition her umbrella from over her head to towards the road and crouched behind it like a Roman legionary.

How very original. Are you suggesting the story isn't true?
