Nice. Was always a fan of RUF's work, but this is something else.
The engineering alone that goes into something like this is special, and something to behold, never mind a low curb weight car with driving at its core, which you might just be able to actually use.

Well done RUF, well done.

And if you want something more modern and faster

That is just epic as well. 285's on the front, ahem.

Ruf are 911 tuning, 9ff came and went and other companies get on the bandwagon but RUF is the real deal. I remember an Evo piece where Michelin tyre testers just raved over it compared to other modifed cars. To me that is the best thumbs up of all

This looks absolutely magnificent. There can be no argument, the 911 never looked better than in the 964 variant and with the exception of the 993, it really only got progressively uglier thereafter (though the early 996 look is rather charming).

This machine though, what a spectacle of engineering. At a time when the Huracan is embroiled in a storm of controvery over that dubious 'ring lap, this shines as a beacon of analogue enjoyment. I bet that engine is a mighty thing to behold.

It was a comment from someone who knows nothing about performance cars, clearly!
Clearly! Because commenting on how a car looks has everything to do with its performance...
I'll make it easy for you.

Such a glorious concept, absolutely love it. It seems to be the perfect antithesis to modern performance cars. I really hope these don't just become museum pieces / garage queens though (they will).

Singers are nice cars to look at , RUF's are nicer to drive ... that's it.
How many Singers and Ruf's have you driven?

I don't think you can really compare the two. Ruf's are all about the performance whereas Singers are about the detailing and package as a whole.

Ideally you'd have one of each.

I actually prefer that to the "new" Yellowbird ... getmecoat

(well apart from the front bumper styling which looks almost as hideous as the Yellowbird's)

I'd imagine the money side of that 'problem' is unlikely to be the issue too. It sounds like getting on Ruf's list is likely to be why you won't have both.

No no, you clearly don't "get it", I said it looks terrible, I am fully aware of the original and the performance of both this and the original, there is an 86 930 turbo sitting in my garage.

I said it looks like a poor copy of both the original RUF and 930, less of an homage and more of a lack of ideas and creativity, as is the way with the vast majority of "retro" designs.

Honestly, just read something before you comment, its not hard.

Quick, somebody post the same video again of it being driven so I can understand why it looks bad...

Riiiggght....so a modern car that has deliberately and successfully been made to look like the original (which isn't actually a "good looking" car in itself), by the original manufacturer looks terrible and shows a lack of originality and creativity? laugh

Sounds like the fumes from the old 930 sat in your garage have gone to your head.

Honestly the last step to nope for me. Whats the point, stupid and showy.

I love the original CTR and i'm sure RUF will have no trouble shifting these, but for me

£150k - new GT3 for track use, sunday morning blasts, le mans trip etc (miami blue please)
£50k - for the nicest early 912 i can find to do the "classic" motoring / retro thing
£150k - for a new panamera wagon thing for family use / daily / dog carrier

leaves me ~£400k is for petrol?

Looks like a carbon tub with some fabricated alloy front and rear subframes, pretty much what they did with the largely unsuccessful CTR3.

I hope it turns out better than the CTR3 ..... the few they've sold were less than impressive. A Carrera GT would've been a far wiser investment.
What's wrong with the CTR3?

As much as I love RUF cars even I can't help but to feel disheartened in their abilities after watching this 'road test' of their halo flagship.
