In an ager of Focus RS and Civic R

Looks a bit week IMO. Needs some subtle arches and a bit of a spoiler.

maybe something relatively subtle like on Merc A45

Does look to have a pretty meaty spoiler to be fair. I agree though, does need something more. Some side skirts/splitters maybe.

I personally like it's fairly humble looks. Would feel like a bit of a chav in such a small car with even more flared bits and it would cost even more too. Each to their own though

I like the low key looks too. Could easily pass as ordinary shopping trolley with a spoiler delete and no decals.

Why? It's not competing with those.

Why put a huge spoiler in a shopping trolley when aero is fked anyway? Huge spoiler fits well to Supra or Celica GT4 or similar where it has a real function.

Anyway, this is a mildly interesting car. Simple enough, supercharged is a plus and 6spd manual with LSD sounds great too. I'm going to test drive this. I loved my MiTo, this could be even better. But well see.

The market is happy with add ons. So why not make an effort.

Hopefully they will only be options as I'd definitely opt to delete them both too. Would look spot on then or at least as much as it can do given it's almost ugly car roots.

Very surprised they are going down the supercharged route.

The WRC car is obviously turbo charged and a supercharger will have a much higher g/km.

Great to have something different but are they going down the wrong route.
I haven't read the spiel, but is it a mechanical super charger (ie belt driven) or an electric super charger? The latter would be a nice addition. But would need a beefier battery or other storage to use it properly. Oh and 24 or even 48V electrics.

This video says production will be limited to only 1,000 units:

If that's true it's going to be a very exlusive car and probably quite expensive as a result frown

That name is terrible. It's not exactly TTE or TRD, is it.
TRD = Toyota Racing development
TTE = Toyota Team Europe
GRMN = Gazoo Racing tuned by M(astar) N(urburgring)
I'd been ignoring this article as I assumed it was going to be short for Garmin! A Yaris with a sat nav and added connectivity didn't seem too interesting.

Thankfully I got around to reading it, loving little hot hatches at the moment and this looks promising.

See the civic type R thread for why more is not better!

Nice to see manufacturers still want to make a car for a petrol head of any age.

Also a total waste of everyone's time.

(What is it with this Limited Edition stuff. Make it in reasonable numbers or don't bother).

Yes, I think you may be right, don't think there has been anything like that since the R53 Cooper S...over a decade ago now

Turns out that Toyota made a GRMN Turbo a while back (badged as Vitz for JDM)

I prefer it.

I like that too, a simple round exhaust looks more honest than all these new designer exhausts. I just hope the new Yaris drives well and is not too expensive, so that the Fiesta ST has some competition.

It would be nice for WRC cars to be battling it out on the streets, isn't that what it is all about?
