Looking forward to this, it certainly has all the right ingredients, i quite like the Interior seems rather simple. I do prefer the looks to the older JDM only yaris/Vitz GRMN though.

I doubt they'll bring back the 2ZZ, that engine is a couple generations old now. Much more likely to be based on the ZR engine, hopefully with a 'G' head.

Still in production tho. I'm not sure how well ZR series can handle sporty things.

The ZZ is in production but being phased out by the ZR engine across the Toyota range. Most cars that used to have the 1ZZ-FE now have the 2ZR-FE for example. Toyota need a new 4cyl performance engine, this would be the ideal way to introduce it.

Edit- Also, the Toyota GB blog states it's a new 1.8L supercharged engine.

Supercharged 1.8 is an odd choice in this day and age. Interested to see how it turns out.

The Gremlin? What a good name. Hopefully this will be a couple of tweaks away from being a great car.
I read it as "GARMIN" - thought it was a Sat Nav tie in version.......

Have to agree, especially with how good turbo engines are these days. Maybe they are really aiming for the purists.
The JDM one there is much nicer.
