For that kind of money Id be wanting a brand new car spec'd to my exact whim and fancy
I'd also be mindful that a new E63S wagon can be had for 20k less

But those headrests, sensational doesnt begin to cover it....................

E46 M3 (and E9X M3, and E39/E60/F10 M5's ALL have 4 pipes)

1 pipe on one side is a 4 pot
2 pipes on one side is a sign it's a normally aspirated 6 pot (or TD)
1 pipe on either side is a turbo 6 pot or TT diesel
4 pipes in an M car.

I think V8 non M's use a pair on each side (wider apart than M's)
That used to be the way it worked.

Now 4 pots can be specced with twin pipes to the side as per the old n/a 6 pots and the X1 & 520d (to name but two) have a pipe either side, similar to the old turbo sixes. The 335d, a twin turbo six, has two pipes to the side, same as a M Sport 320d...

Yes, but, would that E63 be comparable spec for £20k less? Would your new B5, specced to your desire be more than that £110k demonstrator?
