Love the idea of going for the GT spec, love the idea of it as a daily driver which must be a good decision. On of the big problems of my classic 911 is I'm too worried about using it as a daily such that I am tempted to swap it for a 997 gt3 as a daily.

Ice Silver is a truly stunning colour, well chosen imo.
(Unless you've actually seen the colour you'd be forgiven for thinking it "boring" because it really isnt)

Something that makes you go "wow" before you get in it - it's not a Mercedes that should be black or silver. It's a supercar.

That looks fantastic, first of the GT / S models I've thought looked really good. Good spec work thumbup

The rear haunch on the silver one has a look of McLaren F1 which I haven't detected before on the more lairy coloured cars.

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with this as a daily. 900 quid for red calipers tho!
Is there any actual, genuine reason why red calipers should cost £900, other than 'because they can get away with it'?

Genuinely intrigued.

£900 for red brake callipers! Why? Does the red paint make it stop better?

I'd get standard ones and get them painted myself.

Could be worse - Ferrari charges £864 for you to have them NOT painted red going by the build sheet on the 488 GTB we had in on test last year! biggrin

I'm ok with the paint, but disappointed that you went for the interior carbon pack. Functional carbon (like the tub in this car) is very, very cool. Non-functional carbon (interior packs) look very naff.
In your humble opinion of course!
Time is the key though isn't it? When the first carbon details came into interiors, I could sort of see the argument. However, now every Barry is wrapping the glovebox of his Corsa in this stuff:

I think the association is now more "naff" than "nice".

I'm the thin end of the wedge, in 2 years no-one will be ticking the carbon box... smilewink

Another interesting topic for discussion and one I kind of agree with. But ticked the box anyway. FWIW you can get the A-pillars of the 720S in 'raw' structural carbon to show off the Monocage II so I'm guessing McLaren may be be sensitive to/aware of accusations of fakery and dress-up options.

But to my mind if you want properly raw carbon you can't beat an F40's interior, which looks like they stuck the rest of the bits in while the resin was still curing!

Well I wouldn't have chosen grey for this type of car, or a tan interior with grey, don't like the wheels either!

Its a good job people like different things, or everyone would be driving golf R's, which they almost already are round here...

I must be getting old then, as I like the chosen colours smile Can't beat a brown interior (though the red up there somewhere does look nice..)

Edit: Can't spell for toffee..

Something very stylish and classy about a brown or tan interior.
