RE: VW Golf R Performance

I'm liking that new paint. It reminds me of BMW's Austin Yellow on the new M3/M4. I think the VW range do need to bring out some nice bespoke colours for their performance cars and stop being so boring and typically German.
I've not got much else to say tbh. I love the Golf R and i don't feel it needs any more power and anything daft doing to it. It's pretty perfect in the standard MK7 guise to me. This facelift is okay but it's all about the numbers these days.
Have to say, last few weeks i have been paying closer attention to car colours - our residents parking at the flat is 13 cars, white, black or grey. work car park, 100 odd cars - white, black or grey.I've not got much else to say tbh. I think next car is going to be something a bit brighter well done VW!
ps - i was a huge fan of the 'mustard' m3 - loved that colour!

Couldn't agree more. VW should bring back Viper Green that they discontinued on the Scirocco. I think next car is going to be something a bit brighter well done VW!

I love nice bright, vibrant and daring colours on cars. I really miss my Rising Blue 'Rocco
In line with VAG's new Huracan 'Performante' which is essentially a boggo Huracan with a little more power and some stickier tyres that now somehow eats everything around the 'ring, shouldn't they just keep it simple and call this the Golf R Performante
I do like it though, I'd have one when I get to a point in life that I need a sensible daily/family car

I wonder if they're pondering the £40,000 tax hike starting in April.
Currently if you spec a 5 door, in white, 18" with leather, and a few juicey options (satnav, dynamic chassis) etc, you get within a gnats whisker of £40K, or over it if you add matts.
I'd fully expect an Akra exhaust, and some extra wingy bits, or funky suspension to take you upto or just over the 40K threshold without any of the options I mentioned above.
I'm not saying the £310 for years 2-5 of ownership is a huge amount, but it's already enough for me to be thinking about loosing a few options.
I think the price of the R Performance might be an eye opener. I was at the show yesterday and the women from VW told me that a car in the spec of the show car would cost 75,000 CHF! That'd be around £60k, so even if the prices are lower in the UK (she said they would be similar) I think all the bells and whistles will still take you close to £50k. If that's true why would you not buy an RS3? Beggars believe. It won't be more than the Clubsport S was, if it is I will eat something plastic.
