I'm going to Germany in my dad's Range Rover Sport in May/June. boxedin

Whatever you think of them, it's a brilliant cruiser and can take loads of kit, let's see how fast it'll go on the AUTOBAHN! biggrin

Soft top V8 - can cruise on the motorways, can easily pull you up mountain passes, fun in the tunnels.

Did it in a TVR Chimaera 500 - what a blast.

I've just booked another one and I'll be doing it in this:

You can't beat thrashing round Europe and seeing the sights, any car will do as long as you aren't living in fear of it letting you down, can't recommend it enough!
Looking forward to the blog....thumbup

Done it in a Mk 1 MX5, supercharged, was quite comfortable but a bit tight for space. The following year we did it in an M3 E46, absolutely perfect for the trip, comfy on the motorways, good fun on the twisty Tuscan roads. Fairly discrete too, so felt ok parking it up at night.

SLK250, SLK55, C63 - up to one month trips in Europe. Last one in winter in SLK55. It wasn't fun in snow even with winter tyres on. SLK250 was doing better in such conditions on the same tyres.
GTR, Z4, Audi S8 - shorter ones. No mountain passes in S8.

It's been done before - and for a lot longer than 2 weeks:

Some Mercedes or other should do it;)

I did it in this

With my then 11 yr old daughter which in hindsight was a little bit brave. Nice, Monaco, Stelvio, Switzerland end to end, Paris, home. 10 days but what a blast!

Went on my honeymoon many years ago to the south of France in one of these:

(Library pic)

My best actual mpg was 53. It even went faster than its actual top speed (GPS). Shame about no air con. Covered 2k miles
in ten days and didn't miss a beat. Its not my ideal pan European tour car, just my car at the time.

Would fancy doing a Euro trip in my 306 Gti6, seems happy at motorway speeds and more than competent everywhere else.

Money no object, it would have to be this for me:-

I'd never tire of driving it, never ever.
