I'm not interested in your opinion-self labelled 'thick'-i posted it because I know many PH members have this exact car which is a Tiguan R line MY2017. You quoted it in case of editing, there are some tools on this site smile
You really are quite the charmer aren't you? I wonder if your attitude is influencing the dealer. If it's anything like how you talk people on here I'm not surprised they told you to foxtrot oscar.

Anyway good luck with getting your car fixed.
Tiguan. The upmarket Zafira for angry dads...
It's not my car. I just get tasked with dealing with having it cleaned, watered, etc.

echo sheepshanks comments-the first tiguan was a basic well made car. Solid. The new car drives superbly, has great tech and fit/finish inside looks good. outside not so good. I also agree re your comment on keeping loyal customers happy when its a small issue. She's had A3, R32, Tiguan prior to another Tiguan. Loyal, yes. Deserves better!

Anyway I've landed the dealer in it via UK (as instructed to do). Guaranteed fix FOC so thats fine. Next car will be an X3 almost certainly. Will stick with Inchcape who have been amazing dealers-couldst be happier with them. And fk you Lookers smile

So why the endless whining in this thread? Let the owner sort their own problems out if they're that bothered about them. Why are you sticking your beak in?

I appreciate you wanting something changed if it isn't right. But going from VAG to BMW won't help - do you really think any of the manufacturers are any different from each other? Its just luck as to whether the vehicle you buy (from any manufacturer) has any problems or not. In my opinion they are probably all built to near enough the same price (merc, BMW and VAG)

Let's hope she doesn't get a scar. You'll be wanting rid of her.

That panel gap! eek and VW's supposedly have excellent build quality/tight panel gaps...

I can sort of sympathise with OP regarding the stone chip thing near the rear wheels, my car has big curvy sills that sort of curve away under the car, purely for aesthetics. This puts the paint surface at high risk of stone chips, and after 55k miles I have plenty. I would rather this though than not have the curvy sills, it's all about aesthetics for me.

Something suggests to me that the OP's car has been driven for an extended period over a loose surface of some sort or close to the gutter, kicking up all the crap and throwing it at the bodywork. Accelerated wear if you like. Maybe the SUV has actually been used offroad, but the bodywork can't cope with it.

It does the school run and has never been off-road or driven in gutters. The plastic is clearly st.

I thought you bought it at 6 months old or something? Or did I misread something/confused myself with a another thread.

If you've had it since new, all I can suggest then is that VW build quality is ste.

My bum was the first on the seat. ste is a bit harsh but a few things are not good enough. Rear boot hits bumper right at the close point which has left straight line impact on the paint. Dribble on paint. Paint correction carried out in factory (st job). st plastic. The car is very refined and interior is excellent. Drives very well. The tech is fantastic. None of these niggles are a big deal. The local dealer should have just sorted them out but acted like a jerk so now he gets a kicking from UK as he hasn't followed the rule book.

The way it works is simple. Because cars can come from anywhere in the UK, all dealers sign up to looking after any car (we know that) but what i didn't know is fixes like this are on the local dealers tab, not UK or the supplying dealer. It sounds harsh but thats the deal. And this is why he didn't want to do it, clearly.

It was an Inchcape dealer who lied to me and then ignored VW customer service.

As always, it's mainly down to the individual you encounter. It should be more consistent but the staff turnover is such that everytime you go it's a different set of people. My Merc used to go to an Inchcape dealer too, and that was just the same in terms of staff turnover.

Given the white flaking paint and tailgate touching the rear bumper I'd say your car has been involved in a bump.

Agree on that. Well, he is a credit to his organisation. And when it's sorted his ceo will hear about it
