I know it's petty but it makes my teeth itch when watching a car show and the presenter insists on saying the car name wrong! Example last nights Top Gear. Yeah i know he's a yank but ffs Le Blanc you are in the UK now it's Fiat ( fee-ut) not ( fay-yaght). His pronunciation of Abarth was way off too.

Mike Brewer made me want to slap his chubby face in when he droned on about a Camaro( cam-aero) calling it a (cam-are-o) over and over again. Cock!!

Clarkson just grips my st though with Volkswagen( volks-wagon) calling it (vowks-vagen). And a Cobra (co-bra) a (cob-ra).

Am i the only person that is bothered by this?? Dear God please say i'm not .I know i have issues but come on, they just sound wrong!

Almost everyone British gets that wrong. It should be somewhere between "day-sha" and "day-shuh", arguably with a very short "t" after the "y" in both cases.

And anyway OP, Volkswagen should be pronounced something like Volks-vaagen; there's definitely no "w" sound in there.

We are just as bad in the U.K. Hyundai, Hi-yun-die is how we pronounce it. It is actually pronounced Hyun-dae. Dacia is another. We pronounce it Day-see-ya. It is actually Dat-che-a.

A lot of Scottish people pronounce 'Peugeot' as 'poo-zhee-oh' or just 'poo-sho-', strangely.

Does anyone actually know how to pronounce Ka?

I always thought the ford EcoSport was eco as in economic, but the radio advert pronounces it as echo-sport

The German v/f is an odd one to my very British ear; it's sort of somewhere between the two.

I hear a lot of Americans pronounce it like that. Should be more like Ow-dee, as we pronounce it here.
