Is the No. plate covering the reversed-font 'Turbo' sticker on the front though?
Now you've mentioned it, I'd forgotten about that from my old Observers book of cars. Google images suggests that some have it, some don't, and those that do have "2002" on one side, and "turbo" on the other, inside the blue stripe, so the number plate wouldn't cover it.
I think it might be folklore but the early ones had that, but it was found to quite intimidating to people they were driving behind, so they scrapped it. I think it's cool!

BMW's own period press pics show it with the script - no numberplate is going to cover that!!

At the MOT station with Mrs +2's car (which passedsmile)
This DB 11 had also just passed its MOT.
The photos don't do the colour justice.

Wasn’t it a dealer-fit option?

It obviously isn't an original one then.

Correct... The BMW 2002 Turbo production numbers were 1672 models, all left hand drive, as the steering column for right-hand drive cars couldn't be fitted as there wasn't the clearance near the exhaust manifold.nerd

Easier to reverse the stickers and number plates and then reverse the photo so it looks RHD. biggrin

Saw this beauty at Goodwood MM over the weekend...

That's a rebodied 330 owned by former McLaren team manager Alistair Caldwell. It's a regular at Goodwood events.
Thanks, I did some digging and found this:

On a summer trip to New Zealand, I noticed a magazine article about a company in Auckland NZ who had built a Ferrari GTO replica. I went to see this car and was most impressed by it; after making some enquiries decided to have my 330 GT made into a GTO replica by this company. Sadly after over a year’s work and lots of money, they went bankrupt on me so I was left with an unfinished badly done car which had cost me a lot of money.

I then decided to do the job myself. I found the premises and hired 3 young men, one of whom was the original bodywork man from the bankrupt company – Gavin Tindell — and after a further eighteen months or so and another considerable amount of money, a tool room perfect 250 GTO replica emerged. They did a great job and the car is now back in England ready for action.

He’s some bloke, search out the podcasts he’s done over the years (some are available on YouTube)…

The last one about the 76 season with Hunt is a riot. There’s some book in him.

well it is basically just a GTS with funny body trim etc isn't it?
Nope.

Per above, it's quite a bit more than that.

Does it justify the premium? That's subjective.

It's definitely not just a GTS with added trim though.

it is mainly a GTS though... with some bits. Not sure i would call it "quite a bit more"

Hi there,

I know its from a show so its not strictly in keeping with this thread but I thought the sight of 14 Aston Martin Valkyries together would be appreciated by people reading this thread.

Taken today at Salon Prive in London.

It may seem formal but he is relaxing as time goes on. Years ago he began his posts, "Dear Sirs."

Of all of the mannerisms demonstrated across the forums to pick up on, a polite formality is it? OK.
