27 years ago, in my Allegro, which resulted in the car sliding backwards into a ditch.

I've had German cars since and their combined parking brake rear calipers are crap for HBTs.

Last time we had proper snow. 306 HDi. Probably 3 years ago frown

Likewise have had cars with electronic handbrakes since. The handbrake on my SEAT is one of those crappy ones which seems to just gently squeeze the caliper rather than applying enough locking force. My old Celica used to be great for handbrake turns - it had a separate handbrake drum on the rear axle, whilst the braking system used a separate caliper/disc setup.

But that was even longer ago frown

At least once a week on the grass outside my mates work in my work van.

Last time I tried on tarmac in a Clio 172 the cable snapped half way and I almost ended up in a BMW dealership

What is a handbrake turn? confused

Only joking!!! biggrin

The last on I attempted was when I, for some long forgotten reason, bought a Sierra 4x4. I tried handbraking it but the rear discs, LSD and 4wd system meant that it was not very good..... That must have been in the early 90's and after that I gave up doing things like handbrake turns.....

Last time I was out playing in the snow, probably about 2 years ago.

However the ESP had a fit trying to correct it. After a few turns and drifts a couple of warning lights came on on the dash - I thought I had broke it.

Switching off and back on fixed it. cool

Mrs jogged home the other day so I took her back to the car park in the night to get the car. Decided it would be super awesome to show her my manliness and do a handbrake turn around the last cone that divides the "rows". Yeah it wasn't the last cone and I went straight through the tape WRC style. At the lights my Mrs pulled up next to me pissing herself... I destroyed her in the traffic light gp though. Last laugh amIright?

Never attempted one. Crappy BMW handbrake probably isn't up to the task anyway, well, it might be once, but then I'd have to readjust and tighten the damn thing *AGAIN*

ESP off, pulled handbrake and the back swung round nicely.
To my shame I have never thought of this. Tried a few times, never succeeded in my current car. Done it plenty of times in others.

Should I be embarrassed to admit that approaching 57 years of age, I have never done a handbrake turn?

Handbrake turn? 8 years ago.
J turn also 8 years ago.
I have done doughnuts and brake-burns in the last 6 months, and sliding the back end out on slippery junctions is a regular occurrence!

You want to go out and try Targa Or Classic Rallying, plenty of opportunities for hand braking and donuts, no worries over what the law might say either.

I did an autotest last year in my TVR (just to see if it would do it)
Handbrake turns, donuts, J turns all possible.
I wont do it again though, the donuts took the outside edge of one of my back tyres nearly down to the wires.
The track with a rwd car is to put the clutch in, then handbrake then dump the clutch. the only difficulty then is stopping it going around and around an around whilst the world disappears in a cloud of smoke.

edited to add

The only road cars I have owned that I havent done a handbrake turn in are my current 3 series (auto) and my previous i40 (electonic handbrake). Every other car has been able to do them including my multipla that was actually really good at them and my mondeo estate that I ended up having to use the handbrake to get around a 90degree left that turned out to be covered in sheet ice,
