Which "classic" hot hatch would you most like to own?

This. Maybe the best-mannered car I've ever owned. Had 3 CRX's, one a V-tec. Quality of build would beat any other hatch on the road, and the NA engine in mine was 164BHP unfettled.
There was deep lust from me as an 18 year old.Around the same time i was also lusting after 600cc Jap fours motorcycles which seemed equally perfect.
Though i appreciate its more 2+2 coupe than hatch and lacks family practicality.
Financial means did not match aspirations however - I cruised around on a Honda H100 (which I loved btw).

Has it really taken this long?
These cars have nothing to do with hot hatches, Metro 6R4, Delta S4, 205 T16 are rally homologation specials, totally different breed to the hot hatch. Take a step back and you have Delta HF turbo (fwd), Metro 1.3 turbo, 205 1.6/1.9 Gti, these are hot hatches. At least try and keep on track with the OP.

I owned-
1. Metro Turbo (crap)
2. Peugeot 205 1.6 GTI (a bit underpowered despite what others say)
3. Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI (Absolutely superb)
4. Lancia Integrale 16 Valve with Abarth motorsport chip (260bhp) brilliantly bonkers
The one I always hankered after as it was RWD but was a bit before my time
is the Lotus Sunbeam.
I progressed from the Integrale to a Prodrive Impreza that kicked the ass of all of the above
but I suppose doesn't qualify for this thread.,
I still own it!

Obviously that's just my opinion.
A bit difficult to narrow this down, I have fond memories of many of them, between my self and my friends we had quite a collection during our formative driving years. I shall start with this though.
The first car that brought that new found freedom as a teenager. One of my best friends bought one having turned 17 before the rest of us, unfortunately it only lasted a couple of weeks before being written of at a junction (I still have the Recaro seats that I gave him £50 for).
If I could have found a decent one at the time, I would have bought it. What I did buy was a Fiesta Supersport instead, not fast , but quick enough at the time and great fun.
Then we move onto the XR2s, Early Mk2 with the bigger carb would probably be the one or a decent Caspian blue Mk 1.
The RS Turbo torque steered to much but I probably still would and as with the RS 1600i, useless brakes.
Another friend had a Delta HF Turbo, again no brakes but a nice drive, slightly spoiled but the speed at which it rusted. I'd be surprised if there are any left now, but a white one with the Martini stripes...
The thing is, that we identify with things that remind us of our youth. People younger than me will pick 106s etc (my sister had a 1.4 XSi, great fun little thing as long as you had small feet). Having said that I would have another Mk6 RS2000, a very underrated great cross country machine. Suffered from looking like all the other Escorts and rusting just as badly.
Anyway enough rambling and on with the thread.

He means that everyone here knows that a 106 Rallye was a lighter version of another performance model. Give or take. It's sort-of true, and yes, we do know what a 306 Rallye is, but this is a car chatroom so remarks like that aren't out of place.
Oh and before anyone says, yes I do know there are spec diffenjces between a Rallye and a 6, but that's one for the pub or a sunny field at a car show if these cars are your thing.
I'd have either FWIW, I'd very much like a 106 Rallye or 205 Rallye too, but those 2 ships have sailed.

The 205 GTI is the first car that springs to mind, although I'd really love a 306 Rallye (basically a GTI-6 on a diet).
I'd want a Rallye as well, my GTi-6 was a cracking car.I would also like at some point to get a 309 GTi - have heard they're even better to drive than 205s and they're also rarer.
