I had my caravan serviced this morning and the service chap pointed out that my front windows are delaminating and misting up. I hadn't noticed this, it's something that has happened whilst it has been in storage over winter.

He also told me that to replace the windows would cost hundreds of pounds for each one (there are three). I have been having a look on the internet and it seems to be a common issue.

I've found a methacrylate adhesive which the supplier claims will work on this type of plastic window so have ordered a cartridge of it. I'm going to attempt to fix it early next week, but wondered if anyone on here had done their own repair. If they had did it work and could they offer any hints or tips about how to do the repair.

I am hoping to be able to do the repairs without taking the front windows off the 'van. The large centre window is worse effected so will be my priority.

My entrance door window did this. Basically the two halves detached around 30% of the window circumference.

After trying to locate a replacement window (no chance, only new doors can be bought at a high cost) I went for the adhesive option.

The good news is that it does work.

The bad news is that it was a total PITA to do. I ended up taking the door off and placing it on a bench to do it as the adhesive is very runny. I also managed to run some excess adhesive (by accident) into the cavity and it looked pretty unsightly.

Eventually I took it to a window tinting place and got a film of `fly eye` put on the entire door window to try and disguise the repair.

To be honest, with the film fitted it looks great and the total cost of the repair was tiny compared to a new door unit.

Good luck!
