About £78,000-worth of tyres have been stolen from a lorry park at the Watford Gap services on the M1.

The lorry was parked in the northbound service area of the services, located between junctions 16 and 17.

At sometime between 19:00 on Wednesday and 02:00 on Thursday, two holes were cut in the side and the tyres were taken, police said.

Officers are appealing for witnesses .
