Prefer chrome, the black make it looks like a bog-spec car with the basic black trim as standard.

Then again, I've always been a fan on chrome, love the stuff (in moderation).

I prefer the chrome, everything is black or white nowadays.

Chrome, fooling people with poor taste into believing a car is more luxurious/expensive than it actually is by making it look st.

When I bought my car, it had blingy bits of extra non standard chrome work on it, I'm working through wrapping it myself.

Not a bad result so far.

To the OP, it looks 10 times better, ignore the chrome fan club... some people are just unable to move beyond the 70s!

Humble aplogies for having an opinion you don't agree with but to me the black grille looks like a Kamei accessory.

Not sure what you're apologising for. You have a different opinion to me... that's all! Oh and you're wrong wink

I bet it was much cheaper than opting for the black pack when new! Looks so much better. I want this doing on my A4. I hate the look of chrome and Audi seem to be getting worse with it. The amount on mine on the front grill is absolutely horrific.

It's much cheaper to get black on them from new.

You just order an SE, rather than S-line.

I was going to ask if not doing the badges was a conscious choice.

Are you saying that it's cheaper for the pack on the SE model or that if you get and SE you don't get the chrome on?

You're wrong either way. The pack costs the same, regardless of the trim and you get the chrome on all models.

I saw a 5 Series at BMW Norwich the other day with chrome on it, looked like my 528i SE from 1996.

Apparantly they still sell BMWs well with lots of chrome in Eastern Europe and China. They offer it again on the 'Luxury' models now, just that they only sell about 1 in every 200 or so with it so quite a rare sight.
The sales guy said it was usually specced with the tissue holder on the parcel shelf and the BMW walking stick in place of the umbrella.

I got quoted £200 plus VAT to get my window surrounds wrapped black. I ended up doing it myself, - the wrap cost less than a tenner and to be honest, it was much easier than I expected.

I had my RS6 mirrors carbon dipped (actual carbon mirror caps were a £1,500 option). I can also recommend 'dipping' as an option as they've been high speed tested and on for about 10,000 miles now and they still look great despite many pressure washers and bugs hitting them.
