Then it is most definitely not performance enhancing.

Good luck in that case then - there's no way they should be able to wriggle out of it. Insurance companies = set of bds when it comes to claim!

Oh man, this thread got real exciting real quick! lick I can't work out whether it is a wind up or not....

OP - that's the most pathetic ''exhaust performance enhancing'' part i have ever seen in my life. Surely there must be more to this then you have said!? No one in their right mind would VOID your insurance over that?

Flocking cheek of 1st Central - I paid to insure with them as well a few years back. grumpy

I wish i could. Car i away right now and they have already told me its a write off. I have sent them the receipt so if they are true to their word, the claim will proceed! Fingers crossed and thanks for helping me out with things to say and avenues to go down or i would have been in trouble haha
If the facts are as you stated then the claim can't do anything but proceed. You're claiming off the bus driver's insurance, which is nothing to do with your own insurer (or indeed whether you were insured at all).

I'm amazed they would not pay out for that.

I don't remember... [vague attempt at a reference to a good song...]

I'm taking it as a bus drive says he T-Boned him at speed, OP says bus pulled out on him suddenly. Insurance companies to dispute, so both insurance companies are squaring up & working out how to proceed.

1st central initially decided to take the dickish route of seeing if they could wash their hands of the whole thing. Now that Op has proven they are a bunch or arsehats, they will proceed with the case.

[quote=liam18james] A bus hit my car by pulling out of junction and claimed they never saw me./quote]

Ignoring the exhaust aspect, I don't understand this. AIUI a bus pulls out of a junction and is hit by., or hits, the OP's car. Bus driver pleads SMIDSY which is hardly a robust legal defence, so bus co. should cough up.

Or have I missed something?

Insurance co., who aren't apparently on the hook for anything anyway, are being petty.

OP - Email the manufacturer/vendor of your chromium willy extender, and ask them to confirm that it's not performance enhancing. Send information to your insurers.

Are you sure the bus didnt pull out and hit him in the side?

That's pretty much it, but we only have one side of the story. Bus driver could be saying car hit him as he was pulling out/speeding/etc, in which case OP's insurance company could be on the hook for a 50/50.

Even so is the bit of chrome on the exhaust pipe relevant?

A friend owns a body shop. They had an RS6 estate in last year which was hit head on by a bus. He was displaying an ABT badge on the back. When the assessor from the bus company viewed the car he wrote in his report that the car had been mapped. They refused to payout even after a read out from the ecu, aparantely there was no guarantee it wasn't changed back after the crash.

Sounds like these wkers are at it again. Fight it as this sounds like a scam. The chap who owned the rs6 paid £10k for the repair out of his own pocket.

They'll probably "claim" it adds 100bhp....
