I think you might be... With the engine in the middle it would no longer be a 911... The 4 seat configuration would be lost and Porsche would be vacating a position where it has no direct competition. There is talk of a mid engined car though... The 960.

I find it slightly odd how the upper end of 911 are still called Turbo and Turbo S despite even the standard ones being twin turbo now ...

Tell that to BMW and their engine size derived model numbers. When was the last time a 525 had a 2.5 engine.

I'm a Porsche fan. What I find amazing is the range of experiences they can create within a model. The GTS is meant to be NA compared to the turbo power. They shifted to turbo on the GTS but kept the character the GTS is known for.

It'll sell loads. I think the design peaked a few years ago though, looks terribly bloated these days.
