I'm sure it used to take a few days to get into the full swing of 'school holiday' posting.

But the thicko OP doesn't understand that the arrow is just an indication that the opposing traffic has a red, and is in addition to the green. So doesn't understand it's purpose for existence. So the answers don't answer the question.

The simplest answer to the picture is: If there are no red lights. You can go. In the OP's pic there are no red lights.

However the OP is clearly a troll so...
Damn.. I'm far from a troll.. If you were to go to mainland europe and the green arrow weren't illuminated -You can NOT go, You would need to wait for the green extra filter light to come on and be illuminated as well if there physically is one there!
So this is really confusing when here it means you can go without it even being illuminated and in rest of the Europe you would get points on your license for that...

It's all irrelevant what happens elsewhere OP.

You now know that in the U.K, if the main light is green then you can proceed even if the filter light is not showing as long as it's safe to do so.

When the filter light is showing then you proceed as above in the knowledge that the oncoming traffic are on a red stop light.

Simple and end of thread.

That HAS been answered, many times...

If right can go, but straight can't, the red and the right filter light are on.
I think you need to brush up on your driving knowledge too.

There are an incredible number of self-important sad village nobodys posting on this thread, and the OP is not one of them.

For telling the OP what he needs to do is learn the rules of the road, right.

Why do they have to drive on the other side of the road, it's just stupid. Perhaps we should start a thread on the subject rolleyes

Come on, that's a bit harsh. Anyone coming to live here from somewhere else will know the basic rules (speed limits, where you can and can't park, road markings etc), but you can't expect someone to memorise every single rule in the Highway Code - he was just asking an innocent question. Put yourself in his shoes.

Not the point I made; but you were both too excited to jump on the reply button. I was referring to posts saying "perhaps learning the language is better first."

So if I ever drive through another European country I should be able to fluently speak and write their language?

Idiots.

Had that happened to me I'd have had a good read of the Highway Code to discover why.
