Dutch Octane Scramble 03, last summer

Splendid Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000.

Marcos 1800 GT is small. And light. And pretty quick with a Volvo mill between the front wheels.

One of the absolute rockers of the meeting had to be this cute 70s Civic. Flawless.

Dutchies love their Lancia. There are quite a lot of Delta's over here.

Could this be a Triumph TR6? I can't remember, but this certainly looks like a thirsty fella.

Still one of the best examples of an early 70s Alfa Romeo GTV, at least in my eye.

A build like this 1972 will get you a car to your spec.

Kasteel De Haar is voted most beautiful castle in The Netherlands.

Proud owner shows his dream car came true.

Basic interior has all a driver needs.

Cute Italian style plate looks the business.

Lovely front of this #DauwtrappeRS Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1600.

1974 MG BGT caught my eye

Insanely pretty Lancia Aurelia details

Ouch, isn't this just too pretty?

Early Seven?

Finding shiny bits for arty snaps

Very old car with very new interior

Monceau 001 at display

Electrifying classic cars is often een risky affair. I can imagine an EV DS, Merc or Rolls. The eSLC fits that bill and it's a delight to drive.

Stupid car meeting 17 Dec 2023

Image Street Classics is a C&C favorite

When did you last see a Ferrari BB512?!

What a profile... Back in the mid 70s to mid 80s it was this or a Countach, or a 930...

Inside that BB512

Dec 22 #DauwtrappeRS meetup at the Real Art on Wheels collection. But first get there. I teamed up with Niels (Giulia) and Frederik (308 GT4) to slip and slide for about an hour.

The keen watcher spots different wheels on my 916 Spider TS (2002, 230k kms). The car came with old wintertyres and one of them could not keep the air in. I decided to ditch all four and opt for used tyres. My garage found a set of four tidy rims but with only two tyres on.

The original Teardrops will be spoilt with fresh Vredestein Ultracs next April.

The Giulia got a Balocco Classics treatement and looks the business. I think the stance is just right and I adore the wheels.

Yup, there are some quirks about this car, but who cares? Frederik is a hero for bringing it out his time of year.

And there we are. Packed with a substansive collection of 50s to 90s cars, RAoW is a great place to drop by. After five or so years of miss-meets owner Bodie Hage spent some time with us and talked us through his gems.

Unfortunately I'm an inch too tall to find a proper seat in this one: Miura looks great and I'm happy just watching this work of art.

More Stupid Car Meet snappies:

Gorgeous Ferrari 512BB stole the show.

1974 911 2.7 on Cookie Cutters.

The owner taught me stuff about classic car tyres: they need to be a bit stiff.

Honda S2K still is one of my favorite roadsters of all time.

The oldest car I ever did some miles in: 2014-17 Ford Model T.

The owner built his T with bits of different original cars. He took me for a brisk spin. Some experience!

The base chassis is actually wood which makes for a spirited rush to 40-something. And suddenly that's it.

Hidden in a nondesscript box on some industrial complex...

And a few more from the Dutch Octane Scramble #4:

Rare FIAT Coupe next to a gorgeous Alfa Romeo GTV 1750 (Heritage Cars) and a Landy dripped with patina.

This is what a 105-series GTV 1750 looks like: not sure about the gum holder...

More Italian gems: 80s GTV6 2.5 (the sound!) and a Lancia Fulvia on the best wheels ever.

A day out with two Mercedes-Benz Ponton gems:

Inside the 54ps diesel.

On the motorways a rear of a 190D will appear quick, and you will pass. Smoke!

Great wheels, fantastic comfort, spacious, and the 180 is agile and brisk too.

Teutonic markings.

Working radio: but will you hear what comes out...?

Stupid car meet, a few weeks ago:

A mate sold his hot Mini a few moons ago.

A 1.3 'and a bit' is nuff to propel the Mini to crazy antics.

Inside it's all purpose and no showpiece.
