The black Peugeot actually looks sensibly parked but he stopped next to the front campervan and let his passenger out who then proceeded to direct him backwards in the worlds longest parallel park (in terms of both distance and time taken). A good few minutes after arriving the parking was completed when driving in forwards would have been both far easier and quicker!

Portishead Lake Grounds? I had heard that the council had banned motorhomes from parking there..
Indeed (I spotted you parked at Sainsburys at some point!).

They have banned it I believe, seems they've not started enforcing it though unless they're just ticket as there are always motorhomes there and on the seafront. If they are just ticketing I'm not sure how effective that will be given that I'd say more than half of the motorhomes are foreign!

I wonder if the pavement was narrower and the road wider, would they still do it?
Is it just habit now?
We lived on a newbuild and it wouldn't make a difference. There where wide sections of road, that had limited traffic and they still blocked have the pavement. Some deciding it was easier to do that and park right outside their door, rather then use their drive which was 20 steps away.
This is why we need "play streets" right ?

Blocking someone’s drive for quite a while.
Clearly loads of space this side of the dropped kerb.

Obviously parked well enough that you didn’t post a snapshot in this thread.

North Somerset council have banned campervan and motorhomes from parking in any of their car parks and the ban had extended to the Lake Grounds. Many locals who use vw vans for family travel as well as camping are being caught out when trying to park in places like the local swimming pool.

It’s endemic. The white car in the distance is parked in a small cup de sac. No through road. No passing cars. Better park on the pavement though.

In conversation with a moron just now while walking to school.

- why’d you park on the pavement?
- so I don’t block the road
- but it’s ok to block the pavement?
- it’s a big wide pavement
- it’s a big wide road

Well. There’s not really much that can out-do this outrageous self entitled tttery.

Right across the pavement. Kerb down. No way of passing in front due to large concrete barrier.

The obese driver had popped in to get a coffee and dropped some things off.

Some strong words of advice were offered and some absolutely foul language from the lady in the mobility scooter directed at said obese lump of lard.

Will be reported to Sussex Police due to the sheer tttishness and attitude

No more than some local authorities giving EVs free parking.

Sat in a very packed car park with cars queuing to get in, waiting for the wife to trawl through the usual inane soft furnishings in Dunelm, Titchfield.

This disgusting sack of human squalor, looking like she was auditioning for the Aldi version of Love Island, bowled up and smashed her tank over two spaces that had just become free, got out and waddled off. She even looked at the spaces and went "that'll do".

Probably in a hurry to get to the MoT testing centre.

It was getting a bit out of hand. I counted 15 there early one morning last summer. Parking along the sea front is prime fodder for this thread. Most of the cars are normally over the white lines as the spaces are so tight.
