I find a lot of folk don't understand how parking sensors work, stop as soon as they beep, and don't use their mirrors.
Obviously don't use their eyes either when they get out.
They do, but seem too lazy to get in and move it back.

Clear Photoshop. Look at the "shadows" — just what is going on there? Fake news at its worst.

Indeed, look you dorks, even before parking sensors most of us managed to park OK, lot of modern tech makes lazy incompetent drivers in my opinion.

The number of times my wife has called out from the passenger seat "stop!!!!" Because the beeper starts, and I point out the visual aid on the dash which has only one bar showing and we are over a metre away. When all 5 bars are showing and you are 25 cm away, it goes continuous, and you still have a gap, I keep going at least 20 cms and still manage to not touch, but by that time my wife is screaming "stop". Sometimes I turn the sensors off.

Sounds like it's not the sensors you need to turn off...

Although this is excessive, if they need access to the boot, getting a dog in and out for example, the hedge would get in the way. We usually park forward in situations like this as our dog is getting elderly and needs a run up

The boot lid is quite compact on these Pumas, you could reverse right up and still get in without touching the shrubbery.

Look at the cars driving schools are using now, all with auto lights, auto wipers, hill start assist, anti stall, parking sensors, cameras, etc... Someone who passes in one of these won't have a clue how to do anything 'analogue'. Girl at work was driving around with her lights off at night without realising because she learnt in a car with auto lights.

Sticks.

Partly the design doesn't help. Dials are illuminated, lights on or not, my car has no 'lights on' warning light and the switch is out of sight my my knee. Of course there is a big thing you can look out of called a windscreen.

Agree, a few years ago a friend's daghter passed her test and bought her first car (Citroen C1) after a week paid for a replacement clutch as she kept stalling it, all because the pedal didn't bite in the same place as the car she learned to drive in rolleyes

You get too used to them though.

I jumped in the Series Land Rover the other month, put it in reverse and stuck it straight into the hedge, because I was so used to reversing beepers, and I am a knob.

Yes, I park like this even with a reversing camera due to a large tailgate.

Some cars make it easier by having a tailgate line on the reversing camera display so you know how far you can go back and still open the tailgate.

I’ve had this on both VW and Toyotas, but without a camera the problem with sensors is they’re not completely accurate with hedges rather than solid walls.

Surely if you need access to the boot you park nose in with your tailgate facing away from the obstacles though? Or am I just jaded from driving big cars where nose out isn't an option if you want boot access?

I wouldn’t do this but there a a couple of places I park on a regular basis where if I reverse in fully I can’t open the boot or stand behind the car at all because of bushes - usually of the prickly variety. Forced to reverse part way in, get stuff out of boot then back up another foot.

It’s a PR stunt for Specsavers. And given the numerous angles it been photographed at in daylight and at night I don’t think it’s been photoshopped.

How can they get away with that? That's public street furniture which you cannot just do marketing on.

I wouldn't park there if I was using the boot, in reality I wouldn't have noticed it if wasn't sticking out into the roadway. I'd have taken a photo with my car perfect in the space to show how far out it was, but it was raining and I didn't want you all to see I drive a Kia.

For context it's a sainsburys car park, so reasonable to leave your boot clear, but probably makes more sense to park nose first. I was only doing a basket shop so it went in the passenger footwell. Although there's spaces just further down with a pavement behind the spaces so you can reverse into and do a trolley shop if you wish.
