A friend of mine and his partner popped along to the Diddly Squat Farm Shop yesterday whilst they were having a weekend away, the car park was bedlam.

Upon returning to the car, they were unable to get in, as cars were that tightly packed, so had to climb over from the passenger side.

Why do all these local news sites seem to be littered with adverts and pop ups to the point of them being completely unreadable?

- why’d you park on the pavement?
- so I don’t block the road
- but it’s ok to block the pavement?
- it’s a big wide pavement
- it’s a big wide road

Don't really see anything wrong with this one. Both road/pavement large enough to accomodate a 50/50 approach.

This. I've never understood how anyone can drive a car and not tell the difference between when their lights are on, and when they're not.
Same dorks who use fog lights with a zillion yards clear visibility, and don’t use them in reduced visibility.

The road is more than large enough to accommodate a 100/0 approach, even a 100+taxi to the kerb/0 approach.

Just returning from the shops. Could not get through, leant on the horn, after about 5 minutes, driver of the 4x4 came out and offered to move, but pointed out that the van was not there when she parked up.
As I was driving through, the van driver came out, and could see nothing wrong 😑

Only going from this one photo (so might be missing something vital) I'd say they're both parked like knobs.

Audi is parked in front of driveways/parking bays, when she should have parked where the van is now.

Van driver... Well with just the photo I'm going to hazard a guess that "that's where he ALWAYS parks" and gets upset when other road users exercise their equal right to park there. Hence why he thought it was fine as in his mind the Audi was in the wrong.

But it’s wrong, and they probably park like that all the time with zero thoughts of pedestrians.

I think some do it to prevent curbing their wheels, dorks.

Ignore the beetle in the foreground. Look across the road.

Parking in this street is often a nightmare, to the point where a few years ago, I tried to get the local council to put double yellows in for part of the road on the side where the van is, but it was blocked by a local councillor who said it would only shift the problem somewhere else. He apparently lives a few streets away, but that’s another story. The house where the Audi was parked looked like they had visitors so there were a few cars I didn’t recognise, so that made things worse than usual.
White van man just rocked up and parked without bothering to see if it was blocking the road, and could really not see an issue, but I think the language barrier may have been an issue.
He really didn’t understand that, if we needed any emergency services further down the road, we would have been stuffed.

does the audi driver normally park there? from the looks of it it looks like a road where everyone is parking on the right side.

Audi driver was visiting, and not parked brilliantly, but the real issue was the van who clearly didn’t bother to look around him when he parked.
Audi was as far as I know, there first.

Same when we went. I parked in the corner and when we came back there were cars parked behind us. Had to do a 20 point turn to get out.

The road is easily wide enough to park on.

I also wonder if the owner just parks like that out of (bad) habit.

I see he has won a prize as well.

He will no doubt be on SP&L later with an excuse story worthy of a first draft Hollywood script.
However, the huge plot holes won’t matter to to the usual suspects who have a sexual thing going for parking tickets, so they will once again all be jerking over their keyboards to help the driver get out of paying any fines for something like the above scenario.
I can already imagine them shouting ‘it’s an invoice’.

The fine saves the driver paying the astronomical £1.50 per hour charge in the multistorey. And anyway there probably wasn't any room.

Yes, I did go in and have a look. I find all sorts of excuses to walk a bit further for my cardio exercise.

That 5 bar gate is the entrance to twelve garages (at the end of a private drive), and yes, it opens outwards in an arc right where the car is parked. irked

Driver was nowhere to be found despite much horn blowing and knocking on doors. Selfishness and stupidity knows no bounds ...

Agreed, but clearing the debry and some signage would help, no excuses but it does look unused.

Just noticed there is a sign, albeit broken, and presumably the garages can be seen anyway?
