Just a guess, but is one of the perceived ‘perks’ of ownership for some owners - a dedicated EV Only parking bay?
Yes, but for charging, not for just parking. Incredibly there are people who think it's for the latter too. A bit like parking at the pump to go to the shop though not buying fuel, instead of using the dedicated parking spaces.
That’s a good analogy of the mentality I was thinking of.

st for brains springs to mind, pic from local bad parking on FB and pic from google maps.

The car to the right is in a private car park, so assume it was full so they thought they would back up here and sod the pedestrians.
Not uncommon looking at Google maps either:

Not excusing it but at least that one left space for pedestrians to pass behind the car...

Odd thinking if it’s a private car park, assuming issued permits match number of cars, but with no one to police it, open to abuse, as the pics show.

But as you say a space in the one you posted.

Few from the weekend:

Tesco, Inverurie, couldn't believe how many SUVs, Landys etc weren't able to fit in a space... but prize goes to the Beetle

Then from Sunday, GTM had an autojumble and the village was a bit busy

Last week, a wander around Virginia Water Lake with friends to see the famous totem pole before it's taken down forever, and to look at the rapidly developing 'Punchbowl'. This week or next will probably have it in all its glory.

When I got back to the car park (scene of a PH meet many years ago where I first became aware of this site and the owner of an F360 took me for a spin) I found that despite there being hundreds of free spaces, a couple had decided to have a snooze and had parked in one of the main routes leading to the exit, reducing the width of the alley and blocking the motorcycle parking bay. Yes, there was still plenty of space to get by but WHY?!

Thanks. I'd give it a try, but probably won't be able to get a parking space....

Why are they taking the Totem Pole down?
