Spacing aside no legality issues on the AMG one. I like it, and personally, I believe spacing should be one area the rules are relaxed. It would at least give a little more credence to the DVLA selling plates which are only expensive because they know full well it only reads something when misplaced.
Both are exactly right for this thread.

I disagree, enough dodgy spacing goes on anyway (especially amongst certain people and certain makes of car) without relaxing the rules. I am always amazed by some peoples ingenuity to make a random plate read what they want it to.

Some just don't seem to give a fk.

Genuine question. Do you believe that a camera/plod would be any less able to read A B16 AMG than AB16 AMG?

It a good question but there's a supplementary question.

Instead of plod, replace it with member of public in poor lighting.

Camera technology is now good enough to decode any spacing if the letters are not fked about with.

As a member of the public (albeit a car guy) I believe I would more likely recall 'A BIG AMG' speeding away from a crime than AB16 AMG. Anyways, it's not a big deal, just my thoughts.

I'm not so sure about them and that specific plate - but I often have trouble reading some that are close to me where the plates are tinted, and or the letters have been butchered.

I think I saw something like AW55OME on a stupidly loud bright yellow A45 AMG last week, it had tinted plates though so was really hard to read. Apparently it's not the plate I thought it was!

People who put these on need taking out of the gene pool. Far worse than any digit butchering. Can literally make them unreadable, other than when in really close proximity.

I’m surprised 4D number plates are legal, on most cars they are almost impossible to read at night when the number plate lights cast a dark shadow below the lettering.

I don't like any of the tinted or 3D plate's,you'd be surprised the amount of people ask why i don't have them or at least close the 'A' and the '1' together..! I like it just as it is correctly displayed ,makes it more real to me in a funny way...yes

Just picked up my wife from some martial arts thing for mature ladies.

She was chatting to a lady about 65, who promptly got into a car with the Plate CAR 1E

A W12 Bentley.

I thought the spacing maybe just slightly illegal. But I bet its previously been spaced CAR1E and the police have had words.

Wife says she's lovely. Quite scouse.

That figures says I.

If she had a home counties accent she'd be driving a Honda Jazz

Borrowed from FB, looks fine until you see the chrome letters stuck on the bottom of the plate.
