Not a dig, but for everyone. The manual is all online for free. You can even search it easily. It tells you what is a fail. And basically if its not mentioned. Its a pass.

My Mx5 has lost its NS door mirror - it rotted off!
Will it pass an MOT?
the rules seem to say that if your interior rear view mirror is intact (and your OS mirror) then its ok but given the rear window is
a) plastic
b) badly hazed
c) often covered in condensation
Is it still ok?
I'm planning an extensive renovation/ restomod later this year when it will be fixed, along with the leaky roof but it would be useful to have a valid MOT for it.
Cheers!

Got a Japanese import with a rear fog light on a bracket under the rear bumper. Mot this week and the bracket has rusted away and the fog light is now swinging in the breeze. Until I can do a proper fix will cable ties be acceptable?
As long as it’s secure it will be fine. driver' s seat on a 2 door won't tilt. the backrest is secure and the seat powers forwards and backwards without issue.
looked at the manual and also searced for this problem and thought i had an answer (it would pass) but them somebody raised a doubt in my mind by suggesting that "if it's fitted it must work".
what should happen when i present it for testing, couldn't see anything in print to confirm the "if fitted..." bit ?

The tilt bit is fine however the tester must be able to access the rear seatbelts.. looked at the manual and also searced for this problem and thought i had an answer (it would pass) but them somebody raised a doubt in my mind by suggesting that "if it's fitted it must work".

TPMS light on. Menu shows the rear offside wheel as the culprit but at the same (correct) pressure as the rear nearside. Fail?
What year car? we only test that after 1 Jan 2012. after that we have to be sure it is showing a fault rather than a low pressure tyre, so mainly it will be an advise unless we are certain it is a faultcolin79666 said:
