I had a bit of a look but it's a lot of pages . This must have been asked before.

How will they test my electronic handbrake on my car next week?
Do they use the rollers and then press the button. Seems like that may be a really harsh test .

Exactly that. The rollers shut down the moment the wheels lock.

This one's for bikes, but...

Pillions pegs required if there's a pillion seat?

Quick windscreen question...

Got hit by a rock on the way to work today, result is on the passengers side a nice crack from the a pillar to mid screen about halfway up and 30cm in length.

I've got an MOT in two weeks and at the moment struggling to get it changed before then.

Is it a fail????

It's hard to assess from that and it will be tester discretion. Saying that, current advise is it has to be bad, like baseball bat impact bad to fail really.

Yep I agree. The damage has to significantly affect the drivers view of the road. I can’t remember the last time I failed a windscreen.

Is that a change? I've always been under the impression any crack was a fail and illegal

First mot on a caterham 7 since 2007 coming up. It passed previously with a stick on number plate. The plate doesn't have any of the postcode and other info on it either.

Is it likely to pass?

How does that compare to 5 or 10 years ago? Was it the same?

Sorry, I meant to explain what had changed when I posted the image. The sizes and locations of the damaged areas have been the same for years, so you are right, almost any damage to the screen would have failed. The wording was amended to add the part about affecting the driver’s a few years ago-I can’t remember when exactly-and has changed, I think for the better, how we assess the damage.

Not necessarily a testing question but...

If I put a personalised number plate on a car, all the previous MOTs under the old plate should show up under the new plate when you search the MOT history?

Would this corrosion to the point of perforation on an A pillar be an MOT failure as structural rust?

Not specifically an MOT test question, but ......... are lots of people that work in garages giants?

I'm 6 foot tall but very often get my car after it's serviced or MOTd and the drivers seat is miles back. Surely not just my imagination?

I'm 6'1" and drive most cars with seat fully back. Anyone else drives my car and its always been moved forward.
