Notice how KH stands for Kingston upon Hull.
Not just a coincidence? (Maybe) Nottingham was AU, which is gold hehe
Oh, coincidence for sure, i'd say. So CE is another one for Cambridgeshire and Isle of Ely. Didn't really include G for Glasgow or K for Kent as they're not immediately obvious.
Northampton's replacement for the unwanted DF was an out-of-sequence NH at the Council's request. K was Liverpool, not Kent, which originally had D. Kent only got K multiples KJ-KR/T (KE first in 1917, then KT, then KK and then the rest) when they started to reserve "appropriate" blocks of marks, such as saving KA-KD, KF for Liverpool, lots of O mark for Birmingham, rather than allocate them alphabetically to whoever need the next mark, and giving KH to Kingston-Upon-Hull.

80 RN shows on a 2008 Aston. Doesn’t mean to say it’s not been recently changed. But.
