With energy prices coming down the divide between ICE and EV is steadily growing again.

I suppose one advantage to fuel prices going up is that at least the government are less likely to slap more fuel duty on it. We all know once that goes up it’s never coming down. So hopefully this current increase might go down again. Small mercies.

The 5p duty reduction is due to be added back on in April with the budget, so expect it will be the 5p plus rpi

With a general election in the not too distant future, I’m not convinced that will happen.

Was going to say... it's unlikely!

Does bring back memories of Rishi Sunak trying to buy petrol that time and struggling with it from lack of experience. Not owning the car he was filling up, struggling with contactless payment card etc... that was good for some lols.

If EuroGarages owned, they are now owned by the company who bought out Asda.

I went past Roberts Fuel station in Grindley brook last week and they were at £1.43 for diesel so it shows most places are at least 7 or 8p a litre over priced.

Not filled for a while but everything around here (SW London/Surrey border) is between 141.9 and 144.9 for UL.

Does not appear to be going down. Was low 130s around Christmas. frown

I work for an energy company in the Middle East, amongst other refining crude oil in to white oil products including petrol.

Crude and petroleum products are sold at market rates, crude has not increased this year and is at $82 / barrel, 95 Ron Petrol is $110 per barrel for February. ($106 in January). 1 barrel = 159 litres.

The sales cost FOB is $0.69 per litre.

The rise in pump prices is to do with the supply links rather than the product price.
